What Flaws Are You Not Willing To Put Up With In A Partner

Finally, Tardiness is a huge turn-off as I can't make plans with a person who may not even arrive on time -- if at all.

I HATE when someone cancel plans. That pisses me off more than anything, especially if I've already changed plans/backed out of something to accomodate YOUR schedule.

Hahahaha, I agree with you both on that----I am a very stick by the plans/iternerary type person, and I hate when someone is tardy-----and then to make matters worse, they are so careless as to think it's not a big deal to make me wait without consideration. Also I hate when someone cancels plans for a stupid reason or for no reason at all. I can see if it was an emergency like "mom in the hospital"...but otherwise, it's unacceptable.

Being late and always cancelling plans lets me know that I cannot really and truly count on that person when/if I really needed then in a trying time. Psychologically, it shows that they are not stable and responsible and considerate to other people's time/emotions.

My romantic life is complicated.

I don't worry about deal breakers so much anymore. I just take each day as it comes.

whats wrong with republicans :( I'd be a republican if they would drop all that christian bullshit but keep liberal economics :P.

- self-righteousness... massive turnoff (usually some eco-geek or justice fighter that keeps yaping about ethics and morality)
- severe deformities
- no sence of hygene, tastefulness, style (disregard for aesthetics)
- no sence of humor (if he doesnt like/get sarcasm I can smell it a mile away and stay away)
- unreliable (reliabilty is a part of growing up and I'm not a peadophile)

Flaky people piss me off. To me that is too inconsiderate to tolerate in a relationship.

One thing I won't put up with is impatience.

Like you're in the car stuck in traffic. He'll be sputtering "c'mon already", reach over and honk the horn. Or you're in a restaurant, he gobbles up his food then wants to leave while you're still eating and gets up and heads for the door.

I loved being in a relationship for all those years, but then I was lucky enough to have the perfect guy. Good thing he had the patience of Job.

A dreadful taste in music, and that's only to an extent, is about the only fault I will endure. My first relationship basically taught me that putting up with major faults is not something you should ever do.

Wow, look at all the hate in this thread against smokers. You'd think we were radioactive nuclear waste.

To me, smokers are. It's just a death sentence with a rapidly approaching expiration date that's entirely unnecessary. It's incredibly...moronic. In my defense it's mostly my mental illness - I have severe obsessive-compulsive disorder (but I'm medicated so all is well). Whenever I'm around a smoker I have vivid and debilitating mental images of pulsating tar-ridden black lungs; this is just from being around one. I couldn't imagine being in a relationship with one. I'm also exceptionally frugal. If we have joint finances the cost of cigarettes alone would end us - smokes are expensive up here (10$ a pack). $3650 a year on an addiction that will eventually kill you is burnt money, you'd be better off pissing on it.

If you don't care about your body, why should I care about you? Some self-respect comes first, please.

On this point I would agree with you. I just can't stand cigarettes and cigarette smoke, especially in this day and age when everyone knows the dangers and it's not advertised as appealing anymore. Why people still smoke is something that truly puzzles me.

If you love me, every single flaw.

When you really love someone you try to make them a better person and work through all their so called flaws or troubles. And even overlook some.

That's what love and relationships are all about. We all have flaws.

I agree with you, but I think I agree with sixthson more.

He can't have the flaw of being straight.

The only other flaw would be recognizing his own flaws and being unwilling to change. Flaws such as selfishness, moodiness, lack of heart for others or lack of generosity.

We are all flawed, probably far more than we know. The beauty of love within a relationship is the power it has to change us.

I've been in relationships where I truly loved the person, but we just didn't work as a couple. I think the biggest deal breaker for me in a relationship is a lack of communication and mutual respect. In any relationship, there needs to be compromise. I know I'm not the most emotionally sensitive person in the world, but for someone I care about, I'm willing to try to satisfy their emotional needs.

Also, I am both Republican and Catholic. Neither of which have ever affected any relationship I've ever been in.;)

Intolerance/Arrogance: I will not date a woman hater. I will not date anyone that doesn't believe in having friends of a different race(or a race of his choosing). I will not date someone that constantly needs to talk about masculine/feminine, and looks down on people because they're not as one or the other as he is. I'm not into guys that constantly talk about "swag"; I believe personal style speaks for itself.

And the next person to state that I must want to be white because I listen to metal will leave the room with a fat lip. Tired of that shit.

User Mentality: I don't give a shit about money. That said, I will never again date a guy that wants all of mine without offering to pay me back, or any of his. Someone that wants to be around me for the things I have or the things I can do for him, rather than the things I offer for us.

Hard Drugs: I will only deal with the following - cigarettes/cigars, caffeine, alcohol, weed, salvia, ecstasy(in small doses). Yeah, smoke sometimes irritates my eczema(especially in winter), but that's why in my house and car, I get to ask you to please step outside.

Anything else, and i'm out the door AS SOON AS I SEE IT.

That's all i can think of besides the basic "don't cheat" and "don't be abusive".

I will not tolerate attempts to control my personal, political or religious beliefs. That, and need to constantly be with me. I like an independent man.

(Trivial: anyone who puts ketchup on their hot dogs - excluding their personal weiner of course.)

I agree with you there, especially after being in a relationship where the other guy was just the opposite, which is a very frustrating and alienating experience.

:=D:I agree 100% because that is exactly what I was referencing to in my list in regards to arrogance. My ex was exactly like this towards anyone that didn't agree or fold to his perspective on things. That's why he will wind up alone...

- BEING IN THE CLOSET

I had a date last weekend and the guy said he wants to have a secret bf, and tell everyone we are " roommates" this way he wont hurt his family. ??? Furthermore, He does not believe 2 men should marry or have the same rights as a heterosexual couple.

after dinner the date was over.

no closeted guys please.

Dishonesty hurts, but let's face it...everyone lies, to some degree. So, I would say dishonesty, if the guy can be honest most of the time.

Don't say you don't lie either, that is dishonest.
