When you really love someone you try to make them a better person and work through all their so called flaws or troubles. And even overlook some.

That's what love and relationships are all about. We all have flaws.

The only thing I couldn't put up with is dishonesty. And that's not something you can overlook or make them stop doing. Lying to me is a deal breaker for even simple friendships.

Every other flaw can be dealt with or overlooked if I really cared for the person, and they really cared for me.

I agree with you on both counts. Physical or verbal abuse is just wrong and so is lying, though some people seem to think lying is okay. I can't stand dishonesty and can't stand being forced to figure out if someone is telling the truth whenever he says anything.

Yes, it is strange, isn't it, how the little pet peeves you have about your partner can suddenly seem not so bad when he's been away for a while. To the point where you wish those things that peeved you would return. To me that shows a true caring and love for that person.

Yes, the capacity to hold an intelligent, meaningful conversation is a big necessity for me, too. I just can't imagine myself in a real relationship (even a close friendship) with a guy who I can't hold a nice, prolonged conversation with. It would just seem empty.

I have to qualify point 4: If I knew him, was in a relationship with him and then he developed health concerns, this would be different to meeting him with these problems already underway. These are concerns because of having already experienced a boyfriends with abuse issues and diseases. Never want to go there again - have a hard enough time keeping my own life on track.

I can put up with almost anything for the person I love...except cheating. Liars are the worst.
I've had four serious relationships and they've all ended because the truth eventually came out. It's amazing how much effort a person will put into lying in order to maintain a relationship with one person while screwing around with another.

Tattoos I hate tattoos on men. Why do these guys have terrific bodies but mess them up with tattoos? Tattoos are a turn off for me. I don't like the full arm tattoos, writing across their backs, chests and stomach. 1 or 2 decent sized tattoos are fine but if you look like a walking comic book its a turn off.

And guys who don' t want to better themselves. Im talking about guys who work at a dead end job. Don't have a drivers license etc
