Religious gay people astound me.

When you die, you just fucking rot in the ground. God damn, these fairy tales have gotten stale.

.
Just incase there is a "heaven," I live my life as a good person.

Really?

See I try to live my life as a good person because it's the right thing to do, not because some non-existent magic man in the sky will punish me.

But you sure do explain why religion exists. To scare people into line.

Faith is just setting yourself up for disappointment.
I'd like to think we move on to a different place, however, we will NOT know until we die.

If there is a heaven...like in a christian way, aren't you going to hell anyway because you're a faggot?

I believe that plants, animals, and human beings are given energy by the spirit of the Planet prior to birth, live out their lives, and then die, with the energy then returning to the Planet. During an organism's lifetime, they have experiences from which they gain memories, and once they die, their Spirit Energy returns to the Planet, taking with it the memories of the life form to which it had been attached. These memories in turn give rise to more Spirit Energy, allowing the Planet's spirit as a whole to grow, and the cycle of life to continue.

Okay, THIS would be cool; you get to become your favourite character in your favourite book only, the "book" doesn't end per se, you just die and continue the process... that is, until you run out of favourite books... THEN you cease to exist.

Awsome idea! But can it also be videogames and movies? If nto I'd better get freakin' reading!

No option for: "That's all folks!"

Life goes on for the living. I believe that we should appreciate that we have this opportunity to experience life. It may not be a miracle but it can be an amazing thing to experience. Even if it the most simpliest things....of feeling wind against your skin, watching a hawk fly the wind current, or even helping to make this place a little better.

There is no heaven. There is no hell. There is no God. There is no devil. There is no great sin. We are not sinners. Religion was created before there were govenments. It was created for many reasons: to create stability in society, to comfort those with loss, for wealth of the church, and for power and control.

What there is, is this moment: the here and now.

You rot in the ground with the maggots, or have your body burned to ashes before you're buried.

Either way, it really doesn't matter, you're not gonna mind, once you're dead.

As for the supernatural, show me evidence of the afterlife, and I'll show you evidence of a dinosaur heaven.

An interesting theory I'm reading up on for the helluvit is that the concept of hell was fabricated to enforce strict behavioral codes created by religious tyrants, that hell doesn't really exist (in the realm of Christian belief).

That'd be the same reason god was created in the first place.

Despite the rigorous religious training I endured as a child, I had trouble with the concept of Hell when I was 14 years old.

I grew up the same way, strict religious household and, like you, I started asking questions (to myself) very early on.

In my spare time (got plenty of that  ) I'm studying the history of the bible and its revisions....interesting stuff. A lot of the passages in the modern English bible are personal beliefs and prejudices of the authors, far removed from the original text which, itself, was the result of years of word-of-mouth.

Perhaps I worded that wrong. I'm not saying that I ONLY do what is right out of fear that I'll be punished.

If there is such thing as punishment after death, and all gays (or as you call us, 'faggots'), then why would I want to go to heaven? I'd never get laid.

You missed the point I was trying to make. You said you try to lead a good life so you'll get into "heaven"...I was simply stating that:

If there were such a thing as a Christian heaven, changing the way you live so you'll get in is ridiculous, being that you're gay (or in their view a faggot) you aren't getting in anyways, which is why I find religious gay people stupid.

I didn't think I needed to spell it out.

Typical human arrogance to assume that we deserve more more more than what we get. We're really not that important in the Grand scheme of things & we're no less dispensible than a fly.

All these notions of life after death are hilarious for the simple fact that most of them seem to require a brain plus the ability to think. How does a spirit think without a brain, exactly?

Its all fantasy bullshit we've been brainwashed with over centuries. Do not fear death because whatever it involves you simply will not be aware of it. When your brains dead you cease to be aware of anything.

Having said that I do believe there is some form of energy left behind. But its not a thinking energy. Just a presence. I also accept that many are hugely comforted by the whole concept of Heaven & Hell. I'm just far too realistic for my own good.

You forgot the option that would say something like, "nothing."

When we are dead we are dead. Period.

Nothing else. Nothing more. Nothing less.

We are dead when we die!

Thats fine. I wasnt looking for an argument. I just wanted to know what you meant since you quoted me.

Nevermind.

Just understand; I'm a bitch.

I don't believe in heaven or hell.

What makes you believe there is a hell? Or heaven?

Wait, don't answer that.
