I think Riverrick is on to something here ! Anyone who announces they are leaving have got to be bots. What happens is .... there is obviously some sort of malfunction ... and in order not to raise suspicions, the character is retired, some extra emotions are added in ... it could be more horniness or an obsession with the Village People, or whatever ... and the bot is reintroduced into the matrix as someone completely different. I'm sure Naughty Angel is back amongst us somewhere, perhaps as a butch bus driver from Melbourne ....

I was thinking about this. What happens if once in a while a Bot is found out? Because of some error on the programmers part. Why, then just retire the Bot and like you said, bring him back redesigned. Its ingenious!
