That's really harsh. You don't really know why he lives where he does, do you? For all you know, he is in Maine because he is taking care of a sick relative or friend. Many relatives of mine live in Central Appalachia, in one of the poorest areas of the entire nation. Despite this, they don't want to leave but that doesn't make them stupid. Perhaps, he lives in Maine because it is where his family is and a place he considers to be his home.

reguardless of WHY he lives in Maine - the post still stands - there is NO LINE of gay boys trying to bust into Maine to pollute his world - and cold nasty bitter climates dont make you more of a man - and btw - for the record - because someone doesnt want to leave a vile climate - or as you spoke of a poverty climate - because its "home" - doesnt make them the sharpest crayon in the box either...

I personally haven't noticed it, but I usually only shave one a week, because I am lazy, so often have a nini-beard. Laziness is really the only reason though.
