What is new on the Gay Marriage front?

I'm hoping in November we will have a few more marriage equality states to add to the list.
Given the fact Republicans are likely to retake the Senate, it will one of the few bright spots for us in November.

What a great month October has been! So what states are we looking for in November? Montana? Arkansas? Kansas? Florida? Will we make it to 40 by the end of next month?

Crossing my fingers for more speedy results!

Kansas is likely to come early next week, while South Carolina likey by the end of the following week. Montana will be a little later, as the hearing isn't scheduled until the 20th. Arkansas is likely around the same time as both state and federal courts will hear it on the same day. Florida could happen anytime too since Bondi has called for the state supreme court to settle the issue.

Of course the 6th could rule in our favor any day now and add even more states to the mix!

Same-sex marriage now recognized in six additional states

The United States federal government will now recognize same-sex married couples in Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Wyoming, Attorney General Eric Holder announced on Saturday.

“With each new state where same-sex marriages are legally recognized, our nation moves closer to achieving of full equality for all Americans,” Holder said in a statement.

Same-sex marriage is now recognized in 32 states and the District of Columbia. :=D:

We'll need the good news of more marriage equality states being added to the mix, because Nov. 4th is NOT going to be a good night for Democrats.

Pubs aren't going to get veto proof majorities anywhere so nothing whatsoever will change if the get they Senate.

But they can and will block Obama from getting any more progessive judges on the bench, something Obama sadly only got smart about doing in the past year and a half.

As it stands now, yes,.

JUST WAIT to January, though, when they exercise the "Nuclear Option." If the Republicans are in charge, and that probably works if they have 49 votes because there will ALWAYS be a sorry, traitor DINO who will "jump across the aisle," you can absolutely be certain that one of their first orders of business will be to change the rules (on the FIRST day of the new Congress) so that the filibuster is gone, and they will simply slam shit through at breakneck speed in hopes of turning the United States into their feudalist, Christian-ruled dictatorship.

DINO = Democrat In Name Only. Such as was Ben Nelson from Nebraska.

In fact, Obama cannot get a SURGEON GENERAL confirmed, an office that now has to certainly and urgently be filled with EBOLA starting to take hold (possibly), because his nominee dared to say that the prevalence of guns has become a health issue.

You know the RINO hunters is part of what is destroying the Republican party you don't want the Democrats starting down that road. Purity tests is no way to run a political party.

His nominee is correct: as the number of guns in the US rises, people have become safer as crime has declined.

Obama should just pick someone who sticks to medicine.

How does the Republican power structure view RUSSIA nowadays? Other than invasion and takeover of parts of Ukraine, I can't actually remember what Republicans think of their currently-existing internal methods of governing.

I ask, because Russia nowadays seems to be the "world example" that is closest to their model of a feudal theocratic dictatorship with exceptional class disparity...complete with the mandated hatred of gays.

Getting this thread back on track, any ideas about what the 6th may be waiting on to give its ruling?

Most experts attribute the sharp decline in crime to legalized abortion and the implementation of 3 strikes laws.

I ran into the abortion hypothesis a bit back -- I think there's substance to it. But as for the "three strikes" laws, the guy who originally proposed that has studied the results and calls it the biggest mistake he ever made.
