The quickest way to get rid of telemarketers is to discontinue telephone service.
That's really the only way. You can be on all the "do not call" lists, you can have an unlisted phone number, you can have caller ID and all that jazz, but you'll still get robo-calls. The robo-calls get around the no-call rules by having an option to press a button to no longer receive calls from that company; but the information as to which button to press is at the end of the message, after you've heard their speil.
My solution is that I just don't answer the phone unless I recognize the caller-ID. So much easier than any of the above.
And I implore you, please do not be rude to telemarketers. They already have the shittiest job in the entire world, I mean even Mike Rowe wouldn't touch that mess... nobody would be a telemarketer if s/he had a choice to do something else. They are more to be pitied than censured, and there's no point in making it worse for them.
