What is the WORST state in the USA?

john71...warning, totally different culture in seattle but the area is achingly beautiful, the countryside, the lakes, the coast.

it does rain a bit excessively but that what keeps it green and its tough to slam a place that practically considers ferns (the plants) as weeds. people are friendly and they do salmon and deer...not to much catfish [snicker]

I could name some "bad" states...but, all that being said, it would only mean that I like that state perhaps "only 70% as much" as something like Michigan or Oregon or New Jersey. (I'm also surprised I didn't see the latter mentioned, though it's very high on my faves list.)

My choices for less-liked states do often resemble a list of the ones that are often mentioned by others. How's THAT for non-committal?

I have lived in Michigan, Ohio, California, and Massachusetts and have visited many other states.

My favorite is California, especially the Northern parts, and my least favorite would have to be Ohio. ( I hate the Buckeyes)

but wat does the middle show? mediocrity and avergeness?

i would never bother going to any of those states in the middle, wat do they hav to offer me? wat is thr? grand canyon or colorado mountains but thats about it....

I just wondered if you ever considered saying that outloud to yourself to hear how stupid it sounds....

So, you're from Australia? And if someone were to say, "I've been to Sydney, why would I want to see anywhere else there?" You'd obviously think they're a complete moron.

This reminds me of a funny story. I once stopped in a barber shop for a hair cut in rural East Anglia (Northeast of London) and the barber asked me where in the US I was from. I said Oklahoma. He had never heard of it. In fact, I learned from our conversation, all he had ever heard of was NY, LA, and Miami. The dude had NO CLUE there was anything in between.

i've heard OK sucks, but i've never lived outside of MO.

Well, there you have it, folks! twardmo is obviously the authority on what sucks....I mean considering all of his many adventures beyond the borders of Missouri. I suppose you're from that little section of MO where you actually can drive North to enter Arkansas.....I hear banjos playing in my mind for some reason....

EASY Jasun! lol Tread lightly my friend.:pOh and there's not that much corn in Oklahoma.lol

I'll let you in on a little secret. KAY?

we grow the wheat that makes your bread.
We farm the cows that you eat.
we farm cotton that makes your clothes.

It may have been wheat.

It could have been weeds.

I was still bored stupid.

I dont' eat breat, I don't eat beef and I wear a lot more Leather, Neoprine and Lycra than Cotton.

But like I say... I'm sure there were plenty of nice people there.

God Bless America.

Each and every one of our states are equally wonderful.

*Ahem*

But, let's be realistic.

There's no real winning argument to this question. No matter which one
of them you name, there will be someone there to defend it. ...And there's nothing wrong with that.

But, speaking from a gay man's point of view, I would *hate* to live in Alabama, Mississippi, most of the 'bible belt', really.

Being a Floridian, I live in a state that is kind of two states in one, really.
Think of us as a 'red state' with blue trim.

Generally speaking, all the coastal cities, (Especially Tampa, Sarasota, and of course Miami) are great places to be, from both a cultural, geographic and
'lifestyle accepting' point of view.)

But, drive an hour 'inland' and you are in 'Redneck country', filled with lots of folks that would love to see a homo a swingin' from the tallest tree just for an afternoon's entertainment.

It's odd to have such two very different cultures so close to one another.

(Orlando is the only exception to this, but that's because 'The Mouse' draws lots of people of our ilk)

Um, Soil. Neoprine and Lycra are products made using petrolium, which, as Dirk says, is a product of Oklahoma.
And man, where do you think leather comes from? You may not eat beef but you surely do wear cowhide my friend.

yeah, I but I use the supierior petrolium of the middle east and cows from California.

So much more cultured.

:gogirl:

Australia, and the USA, are roughly the same size. The main difference is the US actually has "stuff" in the Middle! From the Great Lakes (where I live), all the way down the Mighty Mississippi, to the Gulf of Mexico, and all the varying states that border those along the way!

I've found that each State has it's own personality, just as our ocean coasts are different from each other. The variations are not just East vs. West, but , also, North vs. South. And it all comes together in "The Middle"!

If I started naming names, places, and their unique attributes, this post would take me hours, and most of the server space on JUB! So ... I'll just say this, and confine it to Milwaukee, as a "representative" of the Mid West. There must be some reasons that nearly every single nationality/ethnicity on our Planet can be found living, through their own choices, in "My" "Little City", not to mention "My" State!

And, by the way, ALL of my "Aussie" friends that have visited have Loved it here!

So ... come back and discover "The Middle"! 'Eh, Mate?? (group)

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)
Chaz ;)

Easy, East Denver. What a shit hole...

I feel sorry for the people that live there

Now a more serious topic? What is the worst Canadian province? haha. Prince Edward Island! It only has around 130,000 people, its dominant industry is potatoes? lame.

Actaully, it's dominant industry is tourism.

PEI's tourism industry is larger than that of Ontario, if you can believe it.

PEI is a beautiful province with miles and miles of untouched beaches, stunning scenery and virgin Landscape. It's easy to get around and there's little polution. There's a huge artist community and the people are extremely nice.

And yes.. it's very small.

Oh, and have you have to either take a ferry or a HUGE bridge to get there.

the worst Canadian Province is actually Saskatchewan, which is the world's largest canola field. Hideous, flat, boring and devoid of culture.

But the men are hot.

so.. you know.

Obviously you've never made a trip to Central/Northern Saskatchewan ;). Some of the most Gorgeous scenery you will see. And the Qu'appelle valley has some lovely views too... In fact, I may have to make a gallery to help you out. :p

It's just unfortunate that the 2 main highways go through the boring flat southern terrain that is mostly wheat fields. We do produce over half of Canada's wheat afterall :p

Soil, the gallery has been added. Have a look-see.

As for Culture, the culture of Saskatchewan is dominated by German and Ukrainian culture. So yes, it does indeed have culture. There is not a person in the province who has never had a Perogy, they are also sold in every supermarket large and small... or if you are lucky your grandma/mom makes them... and taught you how to make them. :)

Yes, not only are the Saskatchewan men "hot" they're fiesty when someone insults their province. :p

And so I end this post by saying GO RIDERS!!!

which by chance is also a big part of the culture. :gogirl:

Yeah, Manitoba sucks too.

And I take back what I said.

I grew up in New Brunswick and THAT is the worst province.

Ugly, poluted, boring.. full of ugly, boring and smelly people.

Lots of oil tanks littering the terrain along with rusted trucks, delapitated houses and hideous architecture.

One of the biggest tourist attractions in New Brusnwick is the Tidal Bore.... the tide comes in fast. Another is the "Flower pots". a bunch of rocks that got eroded at the botom.

Oh, and let's not forget Saint John, the biggest city in the province which constantly smells like a toilet backed up into the harbour.

I grew up in a hideous little town called Sackville which is located next to the world's biggest marsh. It's as exciting as it sounds. the "downtown" area is bookended by a graveyard and a swamp.

Well politically, Quebec is putting up its usual front. Makes it hard to enjoy living here when I periodically meet people who contend I make them feel like second-class citizens by somehow suppressing their language and that they should separate and get money from hydro.

Fortunately I love this city anyways. sooooo many hot guys and good things to do if you look
