What Is Your Heritage?

All Italian from the Naples region of south central Italy on both sides.

I've sometimes been curious to learn which African tribes and regions I can trace my ancestry too. Did I come from tribes of warriors, kings, healers, artists, mystics? And what of the apparent European connections? For now, I am content to identify as African American (Black, Negro), because that designation is relevant, material, and actionable.

Scots-Irish on Mom's side (red hair and all that) with American-Indian, Irish, African blood on Dad's side. I'm dark with dark hair. My sister's kids are brown eyed with red hair and fair skin.

Irish

German

A hint of Scottish
And Czech.

My Dad was Pennsylvania Dutch and English from the North Riding of Yorkshire. My Mom was British, French, Haitian, and a touch of Italian. Me I'm Californian

Both sets of my grandparents were born in Germany. They came to the US in the early 1900's and settled in central North Dakota. I only spoke German up to about age 4. My parents (for some reason) changed their minds and decided to only teach my brothers and I English. I think it was so they could have conversations and we wouldn't know what the hell they were saying.

A few generations ago my family came to America from Norway, but primarily Denmark.

I curse them to this day for that decision (no offense!).

Costa Ricans have a wide mix, but as far as I know, I am mostly a mix of mestizo (spaniard/native american) who knows how many times I've had the same combo mixed in  aside from that, I know that in both of my mother's parents family there were pure european members, but we don't know from where :D

I'm 100% 4th Generation Colorado, USA Native.

3 of 4 of my Grandparents were born in Colorado, 2 of them in the 1890's.

If I trace my ANCESTRY back further, it gets complex:
Great-Grandparents, Maternal:
Grandmother: Berlin, Germany (we think)
Grandfather: Somewhere in Poland, the couple met in Berlin
Grandmother: Mississippi, USA (we think) with a British-father and Cherokee Mother
Grandfather: ??? We think he was born in Kentucky or Tennessee. British surname, though. Family rumor has him part of the Young family, as in Brigham (boo!).

Great-Grandparents, Paternal
Grandmother: Colorado, USA, her parents were born in Germany
Grandfather: Colorado, USA, his parents were born in Nebraska, USA. Ancestors from England
Grandmother: Kentucky, USA. Her ancestors? No Idea. Rumor is they had been in Kentucky for a couple of generations, but the surname is clearly British.
Grandfather: Michigan, USA. His ancestors? All we know is previously family resided in Ontario, Canada somewhere, they were fur trappers with the Hudson's Bay Company. Whether they were British or French we don't know.

My partner, however is pretty clear.

He is 15/16 Swedish. The 1/16 is in dispute as it was a border town and them confused Swedes couldn't figure out if they were Finnish or Swedish.

His nickname (amongst others) is Greta. As in Garbo.

"I just want to be ALONE!"
