As I have always well documented here, I mainly watch the CBS and ABC networks for news.
I like to wake up with "Good Morning America" on ABC, so I watch news from the likes of David Muir, Dan Harris, Gio Benitez, Rob Marciano, Amy Robach, and Ginger Zee.
At dinner time, I like "The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley." Pelley is not glamorous, but he is a clear communicator, and is surrounded by excellent journalists such as Jim Axelrod (who is an excellent anchorman in his own right when he fills in for Pelley), Elizabeth Palmer (one of the best CBS foreign correspondents that I've ever seen), Seth Doane, Jeff Glor, Ben Tracy, Kris Van Cleeve, (all young, cute and smart!), and the very best human interest storyteller in the business (yes, he is even better than the legendary Charles Kuralt), the excellent Steve Hartman. Hartman's stories always appear at the end of the newscast on Friday evening. I look forward to that every week!
I watch "60 Minutes" each week. This is mostly the "old guard" of CBS...Steve Kroft, Lesley Stahl, Scott Pelley, Bill Whitaker, and Morley Safer. But I have to admit, it's Anderson Cooper's special reports that have kept me tuned in. CBS should snatch him up as a full correspondent. He would be a huge, powerful addition to the evening news!
