  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

what kind of car do you drive?

@JayHawk - give him some slack. He lives in the NW and drives a NW type car. That Subaru is probably the official car of Maine.

Besides he said #1 brand, not #1 valuable brand.

LOL... I don't know nothin about geography but I think Maine would not be considered NW

It is stereotypical to say, that im surprised not one person owns a toyota prius :p. I own a 2010 Lancer De, its a bit slower then my old car which was a 95 saab 9000 had a turbo :D. but the lancer is a great school car for me.

I Drive a VW GTI, love the sports car feel and how fast it can go.

The reference to Subaru being ranked as the #1 brand came from the April Cars Issue of Consumer Reports as a result of their measurements of reliability and road tests. They were followed by Mazda, Toyota and last year's winner Honda.
Since CR does not accept advertising revenue, their results are considered to be unbiased, and personally have never "steered" me wrong.

We own an 11 VW Golf TDI Sportwagen (unavailable in the US) and get 55 MPG on longer road trips.

Subaru doesn't even make the list but I do like 'em.

I'm not surprised Subaru didn't make that list. Subaru is not nearly as large a company as those who did make that list, and isn't worth nearly as much from a financial standpoint. Subaru is a very good, very well built automobile, though. Their boxer four cylinder engine is one standout. It runs smoothly without requiring counterbalancing shafts to do so. Their all wheel drive system is another standout. I wish Subaru would build a small pickup for sale in the U.S.

Doesn't look anything like this anymore, but that's what it looked like back then :p apparently. Haha. I just hope that global warming continues...I can't afford a car that can take me places if it's snows heavily :(

@NewMercedes,

I know!! ..|

Have you seen this commercial for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class? It was made in 2000 or 2001.

It's my all-time favorite car commercial!

Oh Thanks Bro. I really love Mercedes. I used to have Bimmer and i don't like it very much. I got Navigation System cuz I always get lost easily. Actually, You can watch Movies with ur Navigation System. My send choice is LEXUS. Very nice cars and reliable. I dunno I just love CARS(*8*)

how do I enter a pic from "my pictures", it does not give me a browse option, thanks.

Birddog, See my post #53.

Subaru Baja Turbo. I was recently stopped on the
street and offered more than I paid for that baby
including California Tax and license.

Subaru assembles vehicles in Indiana. Lafayette
I think. During the recession peak moments other
manufacturers went begging to Uncle Sam (like
many banks.} Japan had devastating earthquakes
and supplies (parts) were non-existant. Subi of America
did not reduce pay or lay off. Surplus employees were
loaned out to needy orgs at Subi expense...
all pay and bennies intact.
Every Subi model has made the IIHS Top safety pick
3 yrs in a row. No other car maker can make that claim...
oops, forgot...I hate Subarus....at least until the 2013 BRZ.

Well, before the economy collapsed and went to shit I drove a '06 Lexus ES, then an '08 Lexus LS.... Both were nice, of course, but I'll tell ya... The Lexus brand is WAY overrated... They're just Toyota's with that almighty "L" on the grille...

Fuck that nonsense.

Back when I was endanger of losing my car, my across the street neighbor was dying, (sadly), but she left me her 2002 Cadillac Catera, and in spite of all the bullshit that's been written about them, it's been a beautiful car for me....

Leather *everything*, and a BOSE stereo system that sounds so good I often just sit in my driveway and listen to it....

I plan to keep that baby running as long as possible. ..|

Currently rollin' in a '97 Hyundai Excel. It's my first car, so it has all the good values of s first car - cost nothing to buy, cheap to run, reliable and above all not worth a thing so it doesn't worry me about all the dents and scratches! :D (It's not that bad though! :P)

It's minus the dicky side windshields now, I'm on my green P's too and I also got personal [number]plates for my 18th last year too - they're slimline black w/ white letters - very nice! :D

In a few years I hope I can afford to upgrade to something newer (and safer! :P) - something like a 2008+ Ford Focus TDCi (diesel)?

Of course there are a lot of dream cars out there that cost more than most houses, but a realistic dream car of mine at the moment would be the Hyundai Veloster Turbo - sexy sexy sexy!!!
