What model made you KNOW you're gay???

Hey, guys,

I know for some people, a personal experience was the turning-point, that showed them conclusively that they're gay.

For others of us (more sheltered ones, I guess) it was a model from a movie or magazine, who helped us cross the Rubicon. For me, it was David Burrill (ironically, a straight, totally gay-for-pay model) who gave me that epiphany. (Precisely in Hot Male Review, June 1988, where he posed naked next to a bicycle, in cyclist's gloves - LOL!)

Anyone else ever have an experience like that? I'd love to hear it! And. . . if anyone has those pics from HMR, June 1988, please post them up, or send me a message. I lost my copy, and I've been looking for them for YEARS!

I have never seen the "Blue Lagoon" movies: but I was a studious kid, and my Mom got me a subscription to Time ~ and I well recall Chris Atkins appearing, wrapped up in a PYTHON. (All you amateur Freudians, please keep your thoughts to yourselves - Freud was right about a couple of things, but, so what??? LOL!!!)

LFAH, I got off for the first time watching Scott Baio on TV - *blushing* - 'cause brunets have always been my thing. (Rad Matthews, anyone???) But Chris Atkins was SOOO cute - and this picture got me pretty revved up, more than once!

Just for LFAH - here are a couple more pics of David Burrill. By all accounts, he was not a pleasant guy to work with - pretty 'straight', and somewhat homophobic, to boot. And I saw a pic of him online, in which he seems to be (these days) pretty much a chubby, New Jersey househusband: but, oh well, sic transit gloria mundi.

He sure turned my head, back in the day, though. And once I saw David kneeling (!!!) by his bike in Hot Male Review ~ I knew there was no turning back.

I only wish ALL models were as sweet and cute, as Travis. 'Cause, to my eyes, and ears, and heart - he is pretty much perfect. (*Sigh*)

I was a kid of about 9 or 10 when I first saw this photo...

I always knew I was somehow different but I never understood why. But with photo I began to understand my difference. I kept looking at this photo over and over and over with my eyes always landing at the same spot...

That crotch has a serious hold on me. You got the strong sense this Marlboro Man was packing a seriously large weapon down between his legs. Even at the the age of 9 or 10 all that I wanted to do was to touch it. I wanted to see how big it really was and to hold it in my hands and play with it. I was totally fascinated and it dawn on me. Even at that age I knew I'm not supposed to be that interested in another man's dick. Unless...and that's when I knew!! LOL!

Thanks also, for the "Chaci" pic! Scott and I are just about exactly the same age (I think) and I sort of grew up watching him on TV: but like you (I guess) I really had no idea WHY I was getting so hot and bothered, about him. . .

(I had read about homosexuality in the Encyclopaedia Britannica, and never had anything against it - I just figured I was totally asexual - but then, of course, there was always this weird feeling of always wanting to be Scott's best friend, and go everywhere with him, and brush UP against him, and hold hands with him!!!. . . LOL! (David Burrill helped me figure that out ;-)

M10000 - Thanks for your kind words, and I think Erik Estrada was exceptionally hot, too! In fact, I think he is still rather handsome today, if I'm not mistaken. Loved his brilliant smile, and that jet-black hair, too. . . .

Jerome, buddy, you could get me off on a whole new tangent, but, suffice it to say, I hear you. I know that smoking is bad for you, and people have strong opinions about it (and most posters on JUB find it a total turnoff, and I understand why) - and, of course, I am always happier if my favorite models don't (just for their own health).

But (it's a fact) when I was going to school in the Palaeolithic Era, just about all the cute guys were smokers, and seeing a goodlooking guy smoking still gives me a bit of a naughty twinge - like Bryce, from Boys-Smoking. (Which is an excellent site, if you like things like that.) Cdnguy - that's very hot! First of all, when I was a kid, I used to BEG my Dad for change to go buy the latest "Batman" comic. . . because I just loved the Caped Crusader's pecs - that was another one of my naughty little fantasies!

AND - Chris O'Donnell has always been supremely cute, in all his movies, and still is very lovely and handsome today, on NCIS. (I never knew he was actually embossed, though, on those cereal boxes - that adds a whole new dimension to the idea of a "healthy breakfast"!!!)

My moment hit me when a gay body building couple named Bob Paris and Rod Jackson (I think the names are correct) were on his showing talking about being openingly gay body builders. For some reason I just lost it and even though I knew I always thought boys were pretty (my thinking at a young age....pretty vs ugly) I didn't know what to call it and then being a late teen going thru hormones it all clicked. And sorry I don't know how to post pics.

Justdra - I guess, of your faves, my FAVE was Bob Paris - because, apart from his amazing build, he has SUCH a beautiful smile!!! And yes, he and Rod Jackson were quite an inspiration, as the very first bodybuilders who ever "came out". If it goes through, I am going to try and post up a photo or two, so guys know who you are talking about.
