Mostly the trash stays overnight and leaves in the morning.

Wednesdays is normal trash, Thursdays is recycle trash, and every other Wednesday is garden refuse. :D
 
Every other Wednesday is when the compost goes out, Thursday for trash and every other Thursday for recyclables.
 
It's Tuesday daytime for bin day.

We have two large wheelie bins, one black, one green, that are emptied alternate weeks.

Black one : household waste - so food sits there and rots for 2 week before emptying -yep it's real bad during the warm/hot weather.

Green one : garden waste only - no plastiic or non-decomposable stuff.

We also have a small gree box to place in recyclables - tins, glass jars, glass bottles, plastic bottles, waste paper, waste thin cardboard, and also wate thin cardboard.
 
We have two weekly pick-ups here Monday and Thursday, early morning you have to have it out before 8:30 A.M. Also recycling passes on Mondays.
