What Promise Did Trump Make to a Foreign Leader......

Notice when Trump and his minions and enablers talk about corruption… it's not really about going after corrupt institutions... the Saudis and the Egyptian government and a whole host of countries with bad human rights/ corruption issues can and will do anything and Trump won't say a peep or lift a finger. It's Clintons/Bidens/ Obamas and anything Ukrainian that's anti-Russian... it's only Democratic politicians, institutions... this politics of scorched Earth score settling has to end now, or no telling just how bad things can get. Rareboy, I know you have doiwnplayed how much harm the far right can do if the Democrats win the presidency in 2020, but there are moneyed power brokers on the far right behind them who will not want to lose their power and prestige. We could have a lot of strife, even if one minimizes the possibility of all out civil war. I just feel these 35% hard core are not going to suddenly be reasonable... but find a more savvy, competent Trump replacement whose banner to center their outrage and grievances with. They won't be so easily defeated.... we'll be tested as never before, and I'm not sure even without Trump will we be okay.

Well, it looks like the removal of the US Ambassador to the Ukraine may be part of this massive campaign by TrumpCo. As noted, it went largely unremarked at the time....but was the real intent in replacing the Ambassador to put a Trump loyalist in place who could strongarm Zelensky into using the country to interfere in the 2020 election?

And FOX is trying to get out in front of the shit hitting the fan by outing two of their frequent Trump analiguists as working off the book for Trump in digging up shit to smear Joe Biden with.

In a bombshell report Sunday morning, a Fox News host reported that two frequent guests on the Trump-loving cable news channel were “working off the books” to help Rudy Giuliani dig up dirt on Donald Trump’s leading Democratic opponent and the only person who knew was the president himself.

I am a little more optimistic.

I remember that by the time that Nixon was impeached, a lot of people thought that the country would be torn apart for other reasons....but wiser heads prevailed.

I would agree though, that the US has only one chance to get this right. If TrumpCo. manage, with the help of the Russians and the 1% of the 1% to steal the election out in the open, then I fear the Republic is lost.

I wouldn't want to be the Democrat elected president in 2020 though...they will have a target on their back.

I had almost forgotten that it was only 3 days after the infamous call that Trump fired Dan Coats.

Three days after his now infamous phone conversation with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Donald Trump abruptly fired his director of national intelligence in favour of an inexperienced political loyalist.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/sep/27/dan-coats-dni-trump-firing-ukraine

Gee. Looking back...I wonder what Coats might have had to say about the call that might have gotten him fired?

And is he one of the whistleblower's prime sources?

God only knows if Richard Nixon had Fox News to defend him, just how messed up and divided we may have ended up. I just think we are too polarized now to easily, if at all, get ourselves back on track as a nation... I think with the nature of 24/7 info and the politics of division we see playing out constantly that it may in some ways get worse before it gets better. And as I say, I'm not all too certain it will. I hope there's a Democrat taking the oath of office on January 20, 2021 but yep, that person is going to need all the help they can get.

Regarding Coats, it's a fascinating theory... very possible he could have been one of the primary sources... the whistleblower had a few people giving information. And unlike Trump and his defenders insinuating the whistleblower relied on second hand accounts and hearsay... well the timeline and subject matter of the call was on the money and so was the disclosure of the server for the highest priority secrecy level material with this info and probably others that were not of the highest , most sensitive level were downloaded to prevent either embarrassing or shady, corrupt revelations from getting leaked out. Love to know what the Ukraine ambassador had to say... and Kurt Volker, the special envoy with a long, respected career in the State Department, who resigned the end of last week and seems eager to tell his story... hopefully one that tears apart at Rudy Giuliani and his exploits in behalf of the President.

And why did Trump freeze out Sue Gordon, who by order of standing should have been the one to replace Dan Coats... why was Trump so insistent to push her out?

So Volker's role in this sordid little farce is clearer now.

Two Trump administration officials reportedly drafted a statement meant to be released by the Ukrainian government announcing investigations related to President Trump's political rivals in the U.S.

The New York Times reported Thursday that Kurt Volker, Trump's former envoy to Ukraine who tendered his resignation last week, was involved in drafting the statement along with Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union (EU).

It reminds me of hostage takers handing their victim a statement to be read on video. Incredible how many people Trump had working on this nonsense in order to concoct a fake conspiracy. ...this is what he is wasting the little time he actually spends in the Oval Office doing?

He asks Russia to help, he asks Italy, he asks Australia, he asks Ukraine, and now he blatantly asked China... this orange hued wanna be hoodlum-in-chief is basically thumbing his nose at America and all the institutions that had served to keep us functional and secure. Thumbing his nose at our Constitution. Senate Republicans who fail to convict Trump after he is impeached(and there is no doubt the House will vote to impeach) after all that is becoming clear about how pervasive the effort to corral the Ukrainians into both going after the Bidens AND confirming the whacked out, totally debunked Ukrainian conspiracy with the Democrats to work against Trump.. and openly admitting that he is going after "corruption" and wants key nations to help him...claiming he has an absolute right to do this, and now using trade talks and tariffs with China as a bargaining chip, indicating he would even throw Hong Kong under the bus and ignore any tough Chinese response to the Hong Kong standoff...are guilty of aiding and abetting, of enabling and emboldening, a completely morally corrupted man who happens to be President. Damn you to hell, Lindsey Graham, and all the House and Senate Republicans who stand by Trump.... he makes Nixon sympathetic in comparison. You are going to the mat, you will go to the brink for TRUMP? The political/business version of his mentor, the absolutely wicked Roy Cohn? You are all pathetic, you dishonor your office and your country.

Why do I think that Volker was asked to resign as head of the McCain Institute?

Wrong. It ha just come to light. That Ukraine approached Trump with the news of the corruption. Sorry. What makes Hunter Biden worth $50k per month? Just watch.bits all unfolding right before your eyes, just connect the dots.

Poor Hunter got fucked, then. He should have held out for what Manafort and Kelly raped off....

When we have a sociopathic POTUS....defined as one, "without the milk of human kindness" he will do anything to win. Try to destroy anyone and anything in his path to survival...if not victory. Hard to believe that the Senate Majority think so little of themselves, the Republic and our Constitution that they would choose Trump over ethics, law and common sense, their oath of office notwithstanding. Once Trump drags the whole thing into the shitter and his Russian handlers get their day...well, all our days for quite awhile.....the Senate's greedy bitch asses are nowhere, either. If this goes down, their isn't any exemption for Friends of Donny. Putin doesn't give a fuck about ya'll....not even Moscow Mitch and his selling Kentucky for a fist full of Rubles. Think Vlad already passed on a Trump Hotel in Moscow, didn't he? Wasn't that just stringing the Trumps along so he could control them?

First, I want to say that I have zero military experience outside mandatory one year of ROTC in college, and I have never studied military strategy.

But, I take that condition of storage to be a Pentagon requirement, to ensure the weapons are not near the border zone where law enforcement and security are very iffy. I have a friend in Kiev, and even there, he has been employed several times as a sort of guard over factories that are susceptible to being raided by criminals.

That doesn't sound like any restriction on the use of the Javelins, only in their storage. My guess is that they can be taken into battle anywhere as needed, but the stockade of any spares not in battle must stay back to prevent being a) seized by Russia in a skirmish, or b) stolen by raiders to sell on black markets.

At any rate, I doubt Trump had anything to do with weaponry terms like that, as he has even less knowledge than me about war or weapons.

It is disturbing that a referral to investigate the crime was made to the Justice Department weeks ago...but the Department is now so corrupted by Barr, that nothing happened.

Weeks before the whistleblower's complaint became public, the CIA's top lawyer made what she considered to be a criminal referral to the Justice Department about the whistleblower's allegations that President Donald Trump abused his office in pressuring the Ukrainian president, U.S. officials familiar with the matter tell NBC News.

But the Republicans who defend Trump get their panties in a bunch how the whistleblower went to the Schiff committee for guidance and advice on how to proceed, and was given the proper directive to hire a lawyer and go to the Intelligence IG'S office to file a complaint. A ridiculous insinuation.. at times outright accusation of colluding with Schiff and the committee...only gave an outline of what the situation was, certainly wasn't prepped and assisted by Schiff or anyone on the committee. And even with contact, remember Benghazi? It was terrible what happened, but became an out of control cause celebre that the Republican House would NEVER let go of. God knows how many times they revived the investigation,in which mistakes were probably made by the Administration but Congress slashed the money allotted to embassy security, proportionally much more Republican votes to cut funding compared to Democrats. And Mike Pompeo ran at least one of the probes when he was in Congress and from what has been reported, whistleblowers were in contact with staff … and whatever complaints he has over the "intimidating, bullying" tactics of the Schiff committee, he ran his committee in a very combative, overbearing style far more intrusively.

The whistleblower did his best to work WITHIN the system, this proves... he wasn't getting anywhere with the CIA route as it was the Justice Department that was acting badly. The Whistleblower is a fucking hero, and god damn all those people who are supposed to be working for us who instead paced their loyalties with Trump. NOT the constitution. NOT America. And fuck Rudolph Giuliani and all those ultra right wing wack jobs who aided, abetted, and cheered them on.

"It's like déjà vu all over again."

...and the 2nd whistleblower has now come forward to the IG.

...the second person -- also described as an intelligence official -- has first-hand knowledge of some of the allegations outlined in the original complaint and has been interviewed by the head of the intelligence community's internal watchdog office, Michael Atkinson.

One assumes that they will corroborate the original complaint and that in about 5 minutes we are going to be flooded with rage tweets from TrumpCo.

Who pays?

With all Trump's talk of corruption, it's interesting that he is clearly the most corrupt president in US history. I just read an article about that corruption and how the Trump family is benefiting financially from their father's 'presidency' (and I use that term very loosely). From Ivanka receiving Chinese trademarks through talks with Chinese officials at Mar-a-Lago to Don Jr. and brother Eric travelling the world for their father's business dealings in up to 30 countries to Jared promising Chinese investors special investment visas if they pump money into his failing businesses.

In fact, one day after blasting Hunter Biden for corruption, Eric Trump Tweeted:

Congratulations to our extraordinary @TrumpScotland team! Minutes ago, we received full & total approval for a new phase of development to include 500 homes, 50 cottages, sports center, retail & more. We also received approval to build a 2nd golf course! Very proud of them!

David Frum: ”When you see poor Eric and poor Don Jr., you realize there are bivalves with more self-awareness than the Trump children.”

Elizabeth Spiers said in an interview that listening to Trump talking about corruption is like “hearing Al Capone complain about mob activity in Chicago.”

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/eric-ivan...white-house-trump-organization-035717794.html

I know American tax payers are paying through the nose for all of Trump's golf weekends, but are they also paying for all of the family's business expeditions around the world?

One thing I know for sure, they are rubbing their hypocrisy in the faces of Americans everywhere.
