On Topic Discussion What Sexual and Gender Labels Do You Identify As?

Its not an "experience"...it is gender and sexuality which have definitions regardless of whatever iterations once wants to create outta thin air to justify their existence.

The fact that you think anything you can't relate to has to have been "pulled out of thin air" says it all. Keep writing off other's experiences instead of learning that others might be different from you and that that's okay. *facepalm*

Qualifying as just an "experience" is as demoralizing as saying gay is a choice.

Complete rubbish. Life experiences include things you choose and things that you do not. My being Black is an experience. I never chose to be Black. My being male is an experience. I never chose to be male. Etc.

Not bothering with the rest. You've already played yourself enough with your asinine talking points.

Me too... I'm just gay :)

Andrew, and Edwin as well, I so agree with you. I hate labels as well! I am a guy who simply lusts after hot guys. What is wrong with looking at it that way? And some of the labels are not particularly nice either....
I want to get back to being horny for hot guys.;) Look out Sam, I going after you!:)

I identify as a spoksoijoifsgjoispgjsfigj and if you misgender me you are raping me!

My, some of you do get your panties in a bunch at other people existing while demanding basic respect. You know what 'pc' stands for? It's the less colorful, shortened version of "Don't be a willful asshole about shit people can't change". What a thing to rail against.

You also sound kind've like the guys in the MGTOW 'movement'. Except, you know, they never fuckin' leave, just whinge about it. Spend all their time complaining about what they claim to not give a damn about. Sound familiar?

It should. Everyone who ceaselessly bitches about not being politically correct enough falls into that outwardly observable trap. If you don't care about something, honestly and truly not give a damn, you don't keep bringing it up, or commenting on it, or make snide remarks that you're too lazy to go over with spellcheck so it looks like it could be generic cut'n'paste from, say, Grimshaw or 'Volio on one of their worse days.

Hey! You!

Stop poking the [STRIKE]hornets'[/STRIKE] emotionally retarded attention whores' nests. You'll get glitter in your eye.

But it is so hard to be nice and respectful to other people and to truly not care what other people do with their lives that isn't hurting me or anyone else. Ugh, why does life have to be so difficult?

I mean, this wasn't "What do you think of so-n-so's gender', or "Do you think we've 'gone to far" with whatever-it-is, no; this was a chime-in thread about your own sexual and gender identity. Not "Please, tell us your own and make sure to mock the identity of the other thread members on your way out." For guys who claim to be individualistic motherfuckers and not give or bow to peer pressure, ya'll sure fail miserably in that regard. You just ooze peer pressure. Peer pressure and....sumthin'. Smells nasty, so it does.

I found this thread particularly interesting, just to see how people identify themselves. It's one of the things I can't recall being a thread topic before. But people can't help themselves but judge others unfortunately.

It seems to boil down to some version of "There's an identity here that's not mine/not linked popular consciousness blah blah to mine?!? Kill it!" Think Danny Glover in that Spiderman-mentioned skit. Christ, I'm not awake.

I imagine that most of the people with gender even remotely outside of the norm prolly wouldn't have responded to the gender identity one. When bits of the board pop up like wack-a-mole, I know I certainly don't care for the double standard of "I can have mine but you don't get yours". Among other choice hypocrisies.

here's a handy dandy list for those who want to identify as something other than Male or Female...

I am a gay man but I gave thoughts about having sex with a woman for the first time a lot.

I'm seeing it more as "There's an identity that I don't understand" or "There's an identity that destabilizes my own" (and, of course, the "KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!" is still there.)

I didn't respond t the question because I'm sick and tired of the hostility towards non-cis, non-monosexual identities, but here it is (and I won't repeat it): pansexual, homoromantic, gender fluid. Let the attacks commence.

I thought we were adults here. I guess I was wrong.

Bless your heart. You've been here longer than I have; you should know better.

Given that there are over seven billion people on the world, it amazes me that people expect identities to fit into such rigid categories. And it also cracks me up to see POC buying into Eurocentric conceptions of gender, whereas there are indigenous groups all over the world that recognize more than two genders. Yes, the terminology may have entered the English language recently, the but the concepts are hardly "made-up," as so many people are claiming. We're simply putting words to concepts that have existed for centuries or more.

According to biology, there are two genders: male and female. Some people feel as though they were born the wrong gender so they transition from one gender to the other, and that's fine. There are also people who were born as both genders.

I draw the line at made-up special snowflake genders. No amount of whining is going to make them real.

No, gender has nothing to do with biology. And even if we go by contemporary Western biological constructions of sex, there are far more than two. Even looking just at chromosomes, there are many combinations other than XX and XY. There are genitalia that don't conform to the binary construction of sex. There are secondary sex characteristics, hormone levels, body types, brain structures, and other anatomical features that don't conform to the binary. Again, the identities aren't made up; there just haven't been terms for them until recently.

And don't even get me started on the 19th-century pseudoscientific roots of this "science" and its role in eugenics.

. . .

We must.

If someone is going to put on a wig and fake tits and expect us to call him a woman because that's how he is 'presenting', then we must.

You contradict yourself.
