Open this up in any image processing software and have a play around with the saturation levels and you'll find that the pink placard message is an unnatural addition to the pic.

Only completely stupid idiots would be fooled by this stunt from the greek sounding Rush Limbaugh caller.

I'm not convinced its fake. The EXIF data is for a 1 megapixel camera, in this case attached to an LG Accolade cell phone. Examination in photoshop also yields no discernible manipulation. (I've worked with photoshop for a long time, so I know what to look for) The only thing that makes me think it might be fake is this:

The sharp lines denoted by bright colors COULD indicate a fake, but this tool is also fooled by anything in the red spectrum, so since the sign is pink it could be messing with it.

Not that it matters. You'd have to be stupid to think that this actually represents anything that actually happened there.

People seem to be focusing more on whether it's fake and not on this. While I agree it should be known if it was fake or not, so what it if wasn't? Why do we care so much about what some nutty men think if they weren't doing it solely for attention. (Other than getting them help!)

Best levelheaded post I've read on JUB in a long while

Someone may have come up and put the sign in his hand. He is so involved with the boy holding him he may not have even looked at the sign.

I thought about that when I noticed it looks like he's holding two signs, one over the top of the other. He's also holding what looks like a magazine in an awkward way.

I can think of two ways to easily have gotten that sign into his hand without him realizing what he was holding.

Yet even if it's real, so what? I once saw a sign at a peace rally that said "Nuke the Gay Baby Whales". Am I supposed to think someone actually believed there were gay baby whales, that they could be identified and targeted to hit with atomic weapons? I also once saw one that said "Down With Protest Signs!" and another at a Portland counter-protest against an against-the-war protest, that said "Pave Iraq".

What I think was going on with all of those, and this one (assuming they actually wanted to hold that sign) is that someone wanted to attract attention and maybe get their pictures in the media.

AHA! I think you hit on something. Of course this would get your picture in the media.

sarcasm <on>

This thread has convinced me that the Occupy Wall Street protesters are all wrong. Those two homosexual men with that sign are exactly what ALL the protesters are like; murderous, lazy, filthy bums who will drag the poor millionaires and billionaires out of their well deserves homes and kill them. They're only after other people's money. It's their own fault they don't have a job.

Yes, we need to start a thread every time we see a sign like that.

Right now I'm looking for a photo of a protester blowing his nose into a dirty tissue. Or maybe of a female protester with a tattoo. I'm going to start a thread about that to discredit them.

sarcasm <off>

I think the proper way is <on> </off>
