I'd scream while simultaneously flinging it off me, regardless of whether or not it bites me. I'd then find it and get rid of it (how is yet to be determined.)

I'd probably wash anything it touched. Would I be overreacting? Yes, good lord yes, but I can't help how I feel about them! (I don't want to help how I feel about them!)

Damn, that goliath tarantula is creepy. I would not be able to restrain myself and do nothing. :x

The barb wire hair thing is true. A friend of mine owns a tarantula as a pet. A few years back, he approached the spider without a t-shirt on and the spider shook its furry little massive ass. The next thing he knew he had like really ugly rashes and scar-like bumps on his chest. They still exist on his chest. Really freaky shit.

I will probably start crying and sit in the corner and accept the tarantula as my new master and I, his new vehicle.

I have had a few encounters with the tarantulas during my childhood in Arkansas. They were found in and around some of the old unused school buildings on campus. I would flee and call an exterminator if I ever see one again.

I would scream and run away. But one time I did kill a tarantula that was crawling towards my house on the driveway.

I would just brush it off. They are far less dangerous to people than other spider species.

But if you brush it off, wouldn't it fling those barbed hairs at you? I think I'd probably move slowly into such a position that he'd find it easiest to get off me. Then I'd run away.

Depends on how you did it. Tarantulas and other spiders tend to interpret something as big as a human being as terrain rather than as a living animal unless you happen to move suddenly or threaten it. Best thing you could possibly do is move your hand in front of it so that it crawls on then gently lower it to the ground. It'll likely trundle off without even knowing another living thing was involved.

Not a fan of spiders..

While running, I'd flail my arms.

If I ever approached a tarantula (doubt it would happen voluntarily unless I would get a million bucks in exchange or something ....like a chalupa from Taco Bell), I'd wear a full body suit...or 20 =.= Are the scar bumps big or as small like goose bumps?

I would move to a country with a climate that kills them instantly. Oh wait! I live here already!

If not treated by an expert, a Tarantula's fiberglass type hairs shot into your eyes can cause:

1) Scarring to the cornea

2) Damage to the optic nerve

3) Painful inflammation, light sensitivity

4) Cataracts

5) Vision loss

Excerpts:

"Tarantulas are more likely to defend themselves by shooting a mist of
microscopic barbed hairs straight into your eye."

"Unfortunately, many pet shops do not tell owners."

"Carrim said it would take a week after an attack for a person to feel symptoms.
As the tiny hairs work their way into the eye with every blink, eventually the
eye becomes painfully inflamed."

I have… as have my mom and grandmother. It was at an exotic pets expo when I was a kid, and it was fun.

ANts give me bigger nightmares..
