What would I dislike about living in the USA?

What ethnicity are you? Hispanic just means Spanish-speaking. It can also indicate a person from a Spanish-speaking country, like Spain or countries in Latin America. The check-boxes on forms that have the option of Caucasian or Hispanic don't make sense because you can easily be both!

i know, but i couldn't find better words to say what happens very frequently to me.my partner is Hispanic and he is blond with blue eyes,his whole family is in the process of becoming spanish citizens because their grandparents are from galicia.

i'm 100% italian,my father looks swedish but my mother looks mediterranean coz she is from sicilia.i don't have blue eyes or blond hair but in all my documents i appear as Caucasian,not Hispanic.Also,there is a lot of confusion in the usa about race and ethnicity,like i said in a different post gringos don't know how to distinguish latinos from other races like arabs or hindus.

i don't think i'm even caucasian at all, coz i prefer to call myself Latin or Roman.Also remember that the real hispanics are the spaniards and the portugues which are also Latins,so that's why there is so much confusion in this country,coz they call a mexican with obvious Mayan looking traits hispanic or latin too.

Whatever you already dislike about America (because you already have your prejudices) is what you'll hate if you live here. I'd guess that you'll despise Americans for not being more concerned with every other country in the world (i.e. your country's problems), same rap we always hear from people outside the US.

That's what I hear most often from foreigners online.

I would say there is a lack of homogeneousness and sentiment that we are in this together and a sense of having basic similar beliefs because of the size of the country, because of the lack of a singular historical ethnic identity and the fact that the country has always been defined by both change and fear of change. You will find people with radically different beliefs on the best ways about going about things, which can result in a lot more suffering than you would think a country as wealthy as the US would have. A lot of areas of public life that should exist do not or are very underfunded. You might be surprised at the lack of public transportation in areas outside major metropolitan areas, for example. Some people might not realize the severity of the low standard of living for some Americans, such as in Appalachia, but really in many pockets of the country. But as you seemed to understand in the way you asked your question, the US varies quite a bit from state to state, and within states as well.

To tell you the truth, the people I know that have come to live in the US absolutely fall in love with it. Religious people are annoying in the US but the worst they'll ever do is hand you a pamphlet telling you "HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN!" or "HOW TO NOT BURN IN HELL!"

You can tell them to Fuck Off, though.

problems, the stupidity and even the blind hate that surfaces, Here is a country

of people thay have a 'mass' identity that supercedes ethnic. You don't have

In Washington you would be in danger of being classified as 'Eurotrash' which is the equivalent here of us being 'ugly Americans' there.

'Eurotrash' (as locally defined) are foreigners in their twenties or thirties with a moneyed but glitzy look, who overdress, sneer at the locals, and socialize only with each other. They show disdain for most things American and come here only for the bargain shopping.

Note: It is possible for South Americans to be Eurotrash; in fact visitors from Argentina may have inspired the concept.

This evening, on my way back home on the subway, I noticed a couple of American guys, with tall, jock-type bodies and that typical wrwrwrwrwrwrwrwr-American accent, who could have made me swoon with their powerful gushes of hunkiness if I still were up for that sort of thing.
