I so love the Canadian Rockies. I could so live there if I wasn't so damn materialistic. Yes, I like stuff & I love to shop. I guess I could just rely on the internet for shopping but delivery times would probably be a limiting factor. Heck, I might would have to buy a satellite system. Oh, for the love of a dollar (Canadian or US no matter).
Oh yeah, & 1 more thing (well maybe 2 more things) I will not, repeat will not, clean, gut or skin (or anything else you call it) fishies or animals (very disgusting) so subsistence living techniques are definitely a no go.ar

Canada is like being stuck with your little brother when your going out on Friday night. Deep down you love him and wanna be cool but your pride wont let you say it out loud. So you punch him in the shoulder and tell him not to say anything and he can hang out. That is why Canada doesnt say so much......
What's wrong with Canada? It's too much like the USA in some ways.
Where's your Monarchs, Meteors, Parisiennes, Acadians & Beaumonts?
Eaton's closed!! The are no more Loblaws for me to shop at when on a Winnipeg visit. No more Zellers! Shoppers Drug Mart's checkout line was too long. Yellowhead Route too boring. Festival du Voyageur parking is difficult. Confederation Bridge toll expensive.
Also:
The QEW needed repair between Hamilton and Toronto. The Montana's outdoor dining area had a nearby beehive that ruined dinner. Tim Horton's was out of fresh coffee. Yonge street had no parking places. There were too many books to buy at Chapter's. Joni Mitchell hasn't had anything new out in decades. Brian Adams too. Superstore was too big, too much walking. Canadian Tire had too many specials at Christmas...spent too much. People are too polite. Too much "please and thank you", I hope you have a nice stay". Loonies & Toonies in change. So many different quarters to collect it's hard to keep up.
That's what's wrong with Canada. But the pros outweigh the cons.

I must say I feel Canadians can at times be hypocritical.
They complain about America's policies, it's difficulty to enter, and its immigration policy.
But in reality Canada is the most difficult and strictist coutry to enter on earth. A bit ridiculous.

Justin is also VERY smart. He is one of the best young leaders for the prosperous future of all of North America. Sadly, there are no American politicians that I can think of off the top of my head that even come close to what Justin is capable of doing in leadership.
And Canada is great because they have you, PeTe!

We don't get out of the cities enough. Only Australians and maybe Russians can experience the wild beauty of the earth on the scale that we can and as easily as we can. But most Canadians, especially in the last 20 years, stay in their cities all the time. As a kid you'd go to the lake or the mountains, but I see less of that in the next generation.
We are outward looking, open to new experiences and the best the world has to offer. It is probably fair to say half the country knows more about global events than their own back yard. It spares us from the ignorance and insularity that plagues some places, but often I think we take our own country too much for granted.
And we have annoying mosquitos. And high mobile data rates. And expensive (but good) air travel.
Anyone can be hypocritical ...I don't see how you can generalize to the whole country. Canadians (well at least from prairies) really complain more about Ottawa....American politics are seen as overly complicated so not really complained out. Crossing the border south is not a problem. They know we're just there to shop anyway. Sometimes you get more grief as a Canadian coming back oddly enough than you do from US side. But, if you are not Canadian and want to work in the country, there are fairly strict procedures to be followed. But...strictest on earth...not really. Australia is a bit stricter for example. So is the UK I believe.
