What's Wrong With Canada ?

Things I like about Canada (in keeping with this topic)

- there arent many natural disasters. Vancouver has never had a natural disaster. Ive said it before but Ive heard about 'the big one' (earthquake) since 1975 and it hasnt happened . . yet

- gun laws (when you take into account the population ratio, there has not been the school shootings or mass murders that America has had

- Im told we are friendly and the cities are clean so that is a bonus

- Vancouver has been ranked in top 2 for most liveable cities in the World. We may not have the great tourist attractions that other cities in the US has . . . so that would be a negative in my book for not really having an abundance of attractions to see. If I was American, I probably wouldnt visit Vancouver. There's not much to see here

- gay marriage

- I like how we are more quiet when it comes to 'country pride'. (Thats not the right word, you know what I mean). I think America tends to over do it when it comes to 'country pride' . You dont see Canadians chanting "Canada' very often patronage? whats the word?

- the country has produced many talented people

I'm glad you said 'aren't many'.

About 80 - 90% of Canada is uninhabitable. Most of Canada is sort of in a constant state of 'natural disaster'. ;)

I dunno, I'm Canadian but I don't complain about American politics. I find American politics absolutely hysterical, and I thoroughly enjoy reading about how insane all of the talking heads are down there (ex: Republican? Democrat? When will Americans realise they're two sides of the same coin?)...it's a wonderful pastime of mine. Serious about it? Not at all.

Several of my favourite people live in Canada. One day I will trek across the globe to visit with them and get them drunk and have my wicked, sinful way with them.

We're too busy saying, "Sorry." "No Problem." "Sorry." "No, I'M sorry." "Oh, sorry." "Sorry." "Oops. Sorry." "Don't mention it." "Sorry." "Sorry." "Thank you."

There must be a Monty Python skit with nothing but that....

The problem with Canada, honestly, is we're not an island like the UK or Australia or New Zealand.

Aha! He's got it!

You could always dig a moat.

I didnt know that

Approx. 89% of Canada is not habitable, because the climate is too extreme.

Canada schooling could improve so M1thousand was taught this in school ;-)

There's the real America and the fake America and Canada is the fake America. There's the real Canada and the fake Canada and Quebec is the fake Canada.

Movie title, please.

HEY MAMBO!! MAMBO ITALIANO!!

I love my country dearly, but what's wrong with it? It is way too expensive to live here. In Toronto, a tear down house will cost you $600,000. Insurance to drive, easily $2000 to start, and anything here is roughly 25% more expensive than down in the states (hiya Buffalo! )

But I doubt I could ever leave. I visit America lots and love it too, but here is my home.

I haven't been to Canada, other than a quick trip to send a package that needed to be across the border to get to the consignee, in too many years.

Enjoyed our trips to the Canadian side of the Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake and the Shaw Festival, Toronto and Eaton Centre (it's Closed?!) and the Metro Toronto Zoo. Saw Show Boat at the North York Performing Arts Centre back in the day, and Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages in Toronto.

Did Man and His World in '68 the year after Expo in Montre'al.

Don't like the St. Catherine's Bridge - I don't like heights, and that's a BIG one, lol.
Traffic between NF and TO can be a bear, too. And I remember my folks having to deal with the crazy Canucks in The Royal Mount city that many years ago.

But, I've got to say, I like Canada.

I visited Canada some 20 years ago. In Quebec mainly. Was a lovely trip. The Canadians we met were all very friendly and courteous. We were astonished, when my mother forgot her purse by a telephone booth in Quebec City center, that 30 minutes later we could get it back at the same place without anything missing in it. Unthinkable in Paris...

Also, we all took 15lbs between all the fantastic meals we had :)

^Josh is brilliant.

You should see his show called Please Like Me.

Tiff is annoying.
minor celebrities walking down a red carpet

these idiots did the red carpet when Target showed up in Canada

I laughed my rather generous "arse" off while watching the video about Westboro.

Being an American who has followed their antics, including them coming to our area for a military funeral, only to be rebuffed by the Patriot Guard Motorcyclists who travel all around the country to form barriers to the incestuous pseudo church - most of them are related.
