  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

What's your breakfast routine?

I almost always have a smoothie made with yogurt, a banana, protein powder and rice milk. I also take vitamins (all prescribed/recommended by my doctor) and usually drink some water.

i actually can't take vitamin supplements. even when i was a child, i'd throw them back up. they also make me bloat. i can handle Airborn, that is added to water.
also never been a big fan of traditional breakfast foods. eggs, bacon and sausage all make me sick. i like cereals and waffles, but usually have them for dessert.
i guess i don't eat breakfast........

No routine aside from a liquid shit ton of local coffee.

Lately, I've been eating a lot of hash-brown potato tacos doused with El Yucateco's kutbil-ik nectar:

11,600 lovely scoville units strong. You could pour this stuff on a crusty sock and it would taste good. :luv:

Hahaha i gotta admit too, on weekends anyway I like a breakfast that has some heat to it. Chiles are your friend. They wake up up your palate for the day.

Most of the time I'll have cereal, a banana and a few glasses of water. Sometimes I'll have yogurt instead of cereal.

Almonds. Croissant. Tea. Milk. Vitamins if I remember them, which I don't.

Coffee with milk (I go by color not amount), sugar, and cinnamon. And water.

My breakfast is varied.

Muesli or porridge with natural yoghurt and honey, a banana and some citrus, a boiled egg or fried when rushing, plain ham sandwich with cheese. Oh, and juice and a glass of Milo (but only dissolved in warm water - tummy ache from milk intolerance, which yoghurt and cheese don't seem to give me). It's more of a process than simply a routine. And my friend's mother and Mama both cook this kind of bread that rolled with hazlenuts and sugar and cinnamon and glazed that I eat with breakfast, too. It's delicious. Especially with honey. I sound like a pig, but it all just evaporates.

An UP & GO or a bowl of cereal... or if I am running really late, a coffee on the way to work.

On weekends, I don't breakfast at all.

I go to a restaurant called First Watch right down the street from my house. It's DELICIOUS organic food (I don't give a shit about that kind of stuff but it's a plus I guess) and it's only like 3 blocks from school. I'm an amazing cook (been cooking for 16 years since I was 3, no joke) but I've never been able to master an interesting breakfast.

Coffee, strong; this is the only constant.

Everything else depends on my mood and how much time I have.

Stumble out of bed. Head for the bathroom, trip over dog toy, go pee, wash face and hands, consider if suicide would be less painful than getting up.

Stumble out of bathroom, trip over dog who is doing his morning grooming. Blearily say good morning to dog, crawl upstairs to main floor.

Let dog out to empty bladder and bowels. Lurch into kitchen, and glare at the coffee-maker. When glaring at it fails, actually make a pot of coffee. While coffee takes forever to brew, toss a thick slice of home-made bread into toaster oven.

Frantic scratching at door forces me to let dog in. Dump coffee into mug, add jam to bread. Protect bread from dog. Head back to my room, feed hyper dog, wonder why I got a Beagle in the first place. Sip coffee.

Turn computer on, curse myself for not doing that when I got up. Turn on phone and try to make sense of texts and voice mails. Decide it can all wait until later. Sip coffee.

Sit a computer, browse email, let dog nap on my lap when he is done snarfing down his kibble. Coffee is starting to kick in, I eat my toast when glancing at my calender, trying to remember what day it is and where I need to be.

At that point I either relax for an hour and read my RSS feeds, or toss the dog off my lap and run into the shower in a panic to get to an appointment or shoot on time. Curse myself for not checking tire pressure on the bike the night before, not replacing my headlight batteries (again!), and trip over the cat on the way out.

25 minutes of cycling later I am at the office, awake and refreshed from the bike ride. And usually realize that I either forget some files at home (yeah VPN connection), or that I have no clean clothes left at the office to change into.

I probably have the most unusual breakfast

I have a green smoothie made with a cup of grapefruit juice, half a cup of fresh pinapple chunks, half a cup fresh diced nopales, a celery stalk, some parsley, a cup of spinach leaves, 3 egg whites and a shot of Porto.

And a Centrum Performance Vitamin supplement pill.

WOW. that sounds bonkers. i get the cactus flesh, but the fortified wine takes it to a new level. haha nice work. i'd love to try it.

I use to have a peanut butter and jelly toast sandwich for breakfast every morning. I ran out of jelly once, and so instead impulsively made a peanut butter and cinnamon sugar toast sandwich. it's really good. Well, I ran out again last month,...and have yet to buy any jelly because I have now gotten HOOKED on PB and CS toast sandwiches for breakfast. Every morning I lay out the same things on the counter: bread, butter, peanut butter, and cinnamon sugar. MMM,MMM, mMMMMMMMmmmm!

Two frozen waffles toasted light brown, sugar free syrup, and two slices of bacon microwaved this morning.

Egg Beaters with Swiss cheese omlet and two slices of bacon microwaved tomorrow morning.

What brand is the sugar-free syrup, and how is it? I've been cutting my sugar intake, and have yet to find something acceptable for those syrup emergencies.

Coffee

Oatmeal porridge with flaxseed or high fibre cold cereal with flaxseed

Yogurt

Vitamin C, Vitamin B 50 complex, Vitamin D

On weekends, I will have eggs instead
