What's Your Favorite Musical?

Does anyone have seen "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying"?

Ya know how you hear a song that you like but have no clue where it comes from?

Here is a song I heard during my high school years and just about fell outta my chair when I found out the song was from the musical, "Lost Horizon" 1973! I still love this song but it's even better with those wonderful children from the movie.

Follies (have 4 versions--2 broadway, 2 concerts)
Dear World
Sweet Charity
Applause
Seesaw
Company
Shenandoah (sp?)

Oliver! ...especially the Consider Yourself and Who Will Buy numbers.
Hello, Dolly!
Chicago...despite Renee Zellweger being in it. IHL
A Chorus Line...although it always bugged me that they went through all the bother of the audition, eliminated most, and then they all were back in the final production number anyway...

Oldies:

My Fair Lady
Carousel
Guys and Dolls
West Side Story

When in London i saw a play called Bent, very thought provoking and very moving. Yes, it was a musical.

Would you say Bernstein's Candide is a musical? If pressed, I'd probably call it an operetta, but the lines are so blurry I'm not sure it's worth even drawing a distinction.

I've always wanted to see Candide--based on hearing the overture and "Glitter and be Gay" and nothing else--but I assume it's almost never performed.

The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade.

Brilliant piece of theater. Inspired choice. Thank you for reminding me.

"We want a revolution. Now."

I really wish the first post hadn't been deleted when the OP deleted their account. I no longer remember who started this thread or why I love them.
