^ For the past few weeks, our next-door neighbour has had work crews building a concrete walk and stairway, putting up wrought-iron rails, and putting in a retaining wall and front-yard landscaping, all in below-freezing temperatures.

Weird....freaking weird. Last week it was near 80...tonight it is supposed to go down to 15.

^ They poured the concrete during the coldest days of the year, in the minus 20s C. I felt so bad for those poor guys, but I'm curious if the concrete holds out. It was covered for weeks. It's not quite as cold now (in the single digits below freezing), but still not the type of weather you think about when landscaping is being done.

We didn't get the snow that they predicted. Only got about one inch, but it is blowing and cold, in the low 20's F. Because of the blowing the snow drifted about 15 inches around the cars and was so sparse on some of the grass that the tops of the grass stood out of some of the snow. We're supposed to get some more snow tonight, but so far nothing to speak of and I wonder if they over predicted again.

Woke up at 5.30am to brilliant sunshine shining through the curtains. Man it was bright and we had glorious sunshine all afternoon right up until about teatime, as it grew cloudier and by 5.30pm it was overcast and the first drops of rain were coming down. After tea, the heavens opened, and I don't need to water the garden tonite
