What's Your Weather Like?

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

The neighbor's big giant bush is mostly flat except for one section to the left side.

...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MDT FRIDAY...

* TIMING...Snowfall moderate to heavy at times...is expected to
continue through the evening and then decrease overnight. Light
to occasional moderate snow is expected to linger through Friday
morning.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...Total snowfall of 2 to 6 inches likely,
with 8 to 12 inches near the foothills and possibly near 15
inches on the Palmer Divide and over the Cheyenne Ridge.
Additional snow accumulation late tonight and Friday morning is
expected to be light.

* WIND/VISIBILITY...Visibility could fall below a quarter mile
in heavy snow.

* IMPACTS...Wet snow accumulating on leafed out trees may break
tree limbs and cause power outages. Roads will be slushy and
slick at times. The worst conditions are expected at higher
elevations near the foothills, over the Palmer Divide, and
across the Cheyenne Ridge.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel very low and hazardous. If you
must travel...keep an extra flashlight... food...and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Might have to get up at some point during the night and de-snow trees...8" would definitely not be good.
Then again maybe the 'storm' is done since it has stopped snowing for now.

Latest thinking is Boulder and Larimer Counties overnight, dialing back towards your neck of the woods. :D

Yep.. I'm farther south with Boulder being a good hour drive from me.
Didn't get anything more after my post last night, guess it stayed a bit north of me

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

The South of France is having perfect weather. Blue skies, warm and the streets full of handsome young men.

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Breezy....low humidity....75 degrees and gorgeous :)

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Nice, cool and sunny here in Salem, Oregon.

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Confused.

Even the National Weather Service can't figure it out.

Update at 9:54 PM (this is an actual cut and paste job):
**************************************************
UPDATE Issued at 954 PM MDT Tue Jun 6 2017

Plains showers winding down as expected. HRRR continues to insist
we`ll have a batch of thunderstorms 4-8 hours out--a moving target
it has had all afternoon and evening. I see no reason for this.
The upstream convection in the Cheyenne-Laramie area has also
faded. There is more upstream of that but it does not appear to be
sparked by any organizing feature that would move this way.
Surface wind flow is light and should not produce enough
convergence to break the capping inversion. There could be a
little stratus/fog over the northeast late tonight, but the extent
will be limited if there is any.

Still looks like some warming aloft will limit convection on the
plains tomorrow, though there will be rich low level moisture to
tap if it were to get warm enough.
*****************************************************
...then the next update half an hour later (another cut and paste):
[emphasis in bold is mine :rotflmao:)
*****************************************************
UPDATE...
Issued at 1028 PM MDT Tue Jun 6 2017

scattered thunderstorms have just developed over southwest Weld
and Adams county on some weak boundary that was floating in from
the southeast. Just when we poo pooed the HRRR on storms
developing over Denver tonight, then something develops.
Have
already updated forecast for thunderstorms over the next few
hours. Could expect heavy rain and small hail with the storms.

At least they admit they were wrong.

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Perfect; goodness I love living here.

I found it mildly amusing (OK, really hilarious) that the United States National Weather Service is using the word 'Poo' in an official capacity.

[Insert Beavis and Butt-Head snigger here]

Maybe they're reading Telly threads on JUB! :D

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Extremely hot for me; high 20s.

The problem is trying to dress smartly when all you can wear are shorts, shirt and shoes.

Re: What's Your Weather Like?

Getting hotter. All the windows are open and I think I might go for a stroll whilst it is cool.
