We're breaking records here in Peterborough. We've had more heat warning days during the past week or so (supposed to continue until Wednesday) than we had all summer. The record high in Peterborough on this day was 27.2C in 1970. Today, we hit 32.8C. It's after 8 PM now and it's still 28.4C outside. It's 26.7C inside.

For over a week now, we've been under a heat advisory, which is issued when the day-time temperatures are above 30C (86F) and the night-time temperatures are above 20C (68F).
The temperature inside my apartment hasn't been below 25C (77F). It's currently 26.5C.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) is supposed to drop below 30 when a cold front comes through and, by Thursday, the day-time highs will be in the more seasonal mid to high teens.
We didn't have such temperatures and heat advisories throughout the entire summer.

I see my earlier post erroneously had "C" instead of "F".
Tomorrow is still going to be warm and then cool off on Thursday. What surprised me is that some schools have off because of the heat. Don't know if they had turned off the air conditioning and won't turn it back on or if they didn't have air conditioning in the first place. Schools get snow days and now they get heat days. (?)

This afternoon, when the cold front goes through, we should be able to see the temperature dropping. From a high of 28C (first time below 30C in quite some time), it will drop to 12C overnight (first time below 20C in days).
Oh, and the heat advisory has been lifted.

October 16. it's 4.3C (40F) outside at about 10:30 PM. The overnight low will be -1C (30F).
