^^One problem is that here in Florida we do not have the deicing trucks to salt roads and bridges which will freeze over in the cold.

"Balmy" 68-70ºF the whole day. But that damn horse still sending out blows every now and then... especially at the junction of wider streets and avenues.

Ahhhhh it finally warmed up a little today it is only -9C, for the last 7 days we have been in a deep freeze with the warmest temperature being -17C with it feeling like -40C with windchill. It is almost balmy today lol.

65ºF and up. A late winter, early spring week, as had been forecasted from the previous one. Not that unusual for January, but more towards the middle of the month.

We reached 72ºF , now still 66: not only I didn't need my gloves (as in the past days), I went out with just one of my turtles on, although I decided to buy a new cardigan :mrgreen: It's one of those days in which you can feel as comfortable with short as with long sleeves, although some tourists can afford exposing more skin :cool:

My mom tells me she is suffering the heat just like during last summer. It seems the whole Iberian Mediterranean coast is in the same condition (in Benidorm, of course, they must be getting fried).

I am afraid we will be paying dearly for this clemency: it's expected to turn ugly right after the Epiphany.

We got a phone call from our Utilities company to run our taps for a few days. We're in the midst of a long cold spell and emergency shelters have been open for weeks. The PUC is concerned that the pipes will freeze. It's currently -11C outside, but the windchills are in the -20s. The temps for the next few days will be close to -20C with windchills in the -30s.

We've been in a Polar Vortex. Eastern Canada and the American north-east is under a climate bomb. The vortex brings cold. The bomb brings snow.

Well if you live in the downtown core. There is huge underground Downtown all the malls are connected, you can walk from one end of downtown all the way to the other end underground.

For that matter, most of the world right now is warmer than normal.

But, of course, because it's brutally cold here in Chicago (right now about 0 degrees F), THAT DISPROVES CLIMATE CHANGE, DOESN'T IT?

Anybody who really thinks so, is a moron.

Because everybody knows that "climate change" means that winters disappear altogether, FOR EVER :roll: :lol:
