Your tedious tit for tat does not respond to the issue of the thread, when will civilization collapse? My opinion is that abortion and immigration will destroy our culture/civilization and replace it with one which will look something like the dark ages after immigration and invasion destroyed the Roman Empire. And yes, in the case of Obama and the democrats, replacement is a conscious decision.

Civilization never actually collapses...as one is in decline, another is on the rise. In a global society, the collapse, when it comes, will be from catastrophic forces like a big hit from an asteroid. Otherwise, it will go on as it always has.

Water in two ways: rising sea levels due to continued planetary warming, meaning "too much water", and thirsty populations due to demand for drinking water, meaning "not enough water".


Two things could save us -- a pair of things, actually, since we'd need both: elevator-to-orbit technology that would make brute force corrections to the planetary temperature possible; and fusion power which would allow massive desalination as a byproduct of power production.

Although a plague that killed off a quarter of the people, in the most densely populated areas would certainly help -- there are just too many people. Though if that came before we have the above two items, it could bring on a collapse all by itself (in either event, we'd need advanced robotics to offset loss of labor due to population crash).
