Since I travel quite a bit and my hubby and I are pretty social -- we always try to take one day a week just for us and have a date day. It may be going to dinner and a movie, last week it was to Mt. Vernon, we've gone to the museums, symphony, Kennedy Center....but it is designed to be just for us.
Barry and I met while dancing at Cobalt just about two years ago. I was with my friend Allen and Barry was there by himself. Allen liked this attorney guy and it turned out that the attorney guy liked Barry. Barry had his eyes on me and I liked him.
We all danced and Allen suggested we all go to breakfast at the Diner in Adams Morgan. During breakfast, Allen kept texting people on the phone (something Barry hates). He finally told Allen he should decide if he wanted to go to breakfast with us or talk on his phone to guys wanting to spend the night which caused Allen to take off.
The attorney boy, Barry and I then went to my house and sat in the hot tub having a glass of wine. Suddenly the boy (who was 27 by the way), looked at the clock by the pool and a look of panic came over him. He asked if it was right and we said "yes...are you going to turn into a pumpkin or something." He then said he had to get home before his mom and dad woke up; that he worked for a firm of which his mother was president and father was an officer. They didn't know he was gay!
After he left, Barry and I headed to the bedroom and had a great night. This spring while we went on a cruise for a week, I proposed (well, he kinda did too) and we will be married next spring......
