The GOP know this and that is why they are using the "moral majority" to vote on civil rights instead of the courts. Of course when DOMA arrives at the Supreme Court next session, many would be shocked if it doesn't get repealed.

This could be a reason SCOTUS might not hear the Prop 8 case: if they uphold the voiding of that law, what they'll do with DOMA will be a foregone conclusion.

I wonder if 'evangelicals' at that point will wake up and realize that God has never, ever called Christians to remake nations in their own image?

Sorry,if someone is against gay marriage and they campaign against it,they are bigots,plain and simple. I'm sick and tired of being told not to take it personally that even when I marry my boyfriend soon,the U.S. Goverment and most states will consider us strangers. And that people that fight tooth and nail to ensure we stay second class citizens or donate to groups that do are being bullied when we call for boycotts ec yet when they call for boycotts against companys it's "love."
