So now that this new tax deal is going to cost the US Treasury nearly $1 TRILLION of borrowed Chinese, Saudi, Iranian, Libyan, debt over the next 10 years, where pray tell is the TeaBaggers?

Where is their anger? Where are they out marching and screaming about getting their country back?

I thought the deficit is what they were upset about. Go figure. They are silent as church mice.

Waiting for the Koch brothers and Ailes to flush them down a toilet after 2012 presidential elections like a used condom.

Some people just really ask to be taken advantage of.

Well they also believe in getting more money in the hands of the people. Tax cuts they believe will do that.

Money floating around in the real economy will create more jobs, benefits and future tax revenues than money sent to the government to squander on dead end projects.

Probably what the Tea Party is thinking...

^Exactly.

The *original* concept of the tea party actually had some ideas that made a modicum of sense.

Unfortunately, most of the "tea baggers" were too, um, 'uninformed' to realize that the GOP gobbled them up some time ago.

All that's left of their "vision" is laughable. Keep the government out of our Medicare, Obama is a Socialist and a Muslim (and, *shhh !* He's black, too) and we want to take our country back.

And they're counting on the GOP to make that happen. :rotflmao:

The Tea Party originally started as an anti-tax party, its root concept goes back to the Boston Tea Party which was an anti-tax protest. The result of this deal as far as taxes goes is exactly what they want, they would not be happy about the new spending as they are also for shrinking government spending but as Obama said there is something in the bill to upset everybody which to me is a sign of good legislation. I tea party members in general would find this a bitter but necessary pill to swallow.

Obama just got a huge stimulus package (if the dem's vote for it). It should help him get re-elected in 2012.

This will help more than the $700 billion slush fund passed in 2009.

Let's hope this makes a difference and allows our economy to grow and people to have the dignity of going to a job everyday.

This in and if itself is a crime that I'd consider treason to put our country into debt with ones that hate us and profit at our expense. The corrupt politicians need to be jailed(preferably in general population, NOT in a glamor-slammer) for allowing this to occur and a good isolationist policy implemented and enforced so our country will once again be self-sufficient and prosperous.

At least you're honest enough to go on the record that you now cannot bitch about the deficit in 3 to 9 months from now, when the deficit explodes even further. I'll give you props on that, sir.

However, notice how silent your cohorts are? Hello Jacko, Pixie, JD3, BD, and others. Your silence is golden, and will be noted, again and again and again. I love to point out hypocrisy.

Aren't they busy teabagging?

I'm not sure. All I do know is, that they are not out marching, nor bitching and moaning about the deficit, nor getting their country back any longer.

*shrug*

Where are they? Asleep at the wheel again is my guess, while they gorge on cheap shit from China, bought at their local Walmart.

"This "deal" Obama just made with Rep.s:$900 billion UNpaid for! Where r Teabaggers to protest? Ben Franklin costume in the wash?"

It's because the Republicans won, so they "have it back". You see, there is no problem with them worthy of huge outrage when Republicans run up deficits, as Bush proved.

It just goes to show how Tea Party = far right Republican.

These people are so blinded by partisanship that they start with the premise that if a Republican is doing something it must be good, if a Democrat is doing something it must be bad, and they proceed from there. That informs their entire perception of the political spectrum.

The same exact thing can and has been said about the left!!!!!

The fact that they haven't had time to organize any major public protests does not mean the Tea Party movement accepts this deal. I've been listening to the talk radio voices that claim to represent them and the tea party folks that call in and they are mad as hell and are calling for this deal to be voted against. They see it as a direct violation of the Republican's pledge to America. From what I can tell the most vocal opposition to this deal is the Democrats and the Tea Party. Its rather interesting to hear folks on this site who denounce her marching in lock step with Sarah Palin who leading the condemnation of the deal on the Right.

Well they also believe in getting more money in the hands of the people. Tax cuts they believe will do that.

Why not just reduce taxes to zero, then?

Money floating around in the real economy will create more jobs, benefits and future tax revenues than money sent to the government to squander on dead end projects.

Probably what the Tea Party is thinking...

Sure.

Sort of like cutting the tread off your car's tires and using it inside will give you nice firm footing on the car floor.

Except that this isn't as useful: cutting taxes for the rich at this point is like slicing that tread off your tires and gluing it to the fenders. Anyone with a conservative bone in his body should be horrified at what the Replutocrats are doing: feeding the rich guests, to the detriment of the entire household.

See, Republicans used to believe in responsibility. Responsibility means taking care of basics. Balancing the budget is a basic, and cutting income doesn't balance a budget. But beyond that, keeping high-quality infrastructure is a basic -- and where were the Republican proposals to provide $100 billion for highways, each year, until our roads got as good as Germany's? That there were none says clearly that Republicans are about helping the uber-wealthy, regardless of who it hurts, even if that is the U.S. of A.

As for the Tea Partites, my guess is they haven't recovered from celebrating voting a batch of economic illiterates into Congress.

Except giving money to the wealthy is not putting it into the "real" economy. That doesn't work. It just goes into savings and doesn't get spent.

If the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy were so stimulating, so likely to generate more tax revenue, and so good for jobs, why did they result in a depression, record unemployment, and the worst deficit in US history?

What silence? In another thread I said the deal was idiotic and I'd prefer all of the Bush tax cuts to expire. We can't afford ANY of them, and we should stop before its too late. You should pay more attention. ..|

I just keep wondering where the Democratic leadership is -- I can tell you where their head is so I guess the mouth must be in the same location!

Here we have the first of what should be repeated messages outlining that the Republican/Tea Party theory is simply get the rich richer.

The Dems should be harping that this is the Obama-Democrat Tax Cut. George Bush gave a tax cut; it expired. This is a new tax cut -- not an extension of one; Bush cut your taxes and so did we should be their message (if they had the sense to have one).

Next they need to say that they are the party of fiscal responsibility -- and I see they did parade out Bill Clinton today. The message: we balanced your budget -- and we can prove it.

The rich tax cuts will go into savings and making the rich richer. It should be a recurring message and followed by "we're going to cut the deficit; they won't and have never done it."

But, alas, the Republicans have now claimed the tax cut, will continue to take credit for it, and the hapless Dems will keep running in circles....sigh....

Again the Tea Party folks are not supporting this deal. Me personally think its the best compromise possible and I'm all in favor of it.

If that's the case please provide the links. I haven't heard "boo" from any of them on FAUX news, nor any other fake news outlets like Drudge. Additionally, I haven't even heard they are against it from real news outlets like NBC, CBS, et al.
