Where Are The TeaBaggers Now?

If that's the case please provide the links. I haven't heard "boo" from any of them on FAUX news, nor any other fake news outlets like Drudge. Additionally, I haven't even heard they are against it from real news outlets like NBC, CBS, et al.

Sarah Palin, the darling of the Tea Party has condemned it and calls for a no vote, so does radio host Hugh Hewitt who is another tea party favorite and Senator DeMint. They are all calling for the deal to be voted down and are calling for their followers to call the congress urging such.

LMFAO! They aren't against the tax cuts at all, but are furious they aren't permanent and "increase the deficit" because of extending unemployment, reducing payroll taxes for the middle class and other Democratic goals. That's the ONLY reason they are against it. Did you even fucking read the bullshit links/quotes you posted? Good Christ! ](*,)

Lol. Close but no cigar.

I guess the Teabaggers' costumes are in the wash.

I never said they were against the tax cuts, I said they were mad about and opposed to the Obama deal for exactly the reasons you state, the increased spending which is what the Tea Party movement was largely about. Do keep up. The comments here was that the Tea Party spokesmen were not saying anything negative about this deal and that is just not correct.

BOTH the Far Left and the Far Right hate this deal, and most moderates say its the best that can be done, to me that is usually a good sign of a compromise that has hit it just right. We aren't raising the direct taxes in the middle of a recovery, substantial assistance to the unemployed, poor and middle class is being worked in, the the amount of money being filtered back into the economy through the unemployment extension, the child tax credit, payroll holiday and other 'not for the rich' benefits in this package, some folks are calling it a stealth stimulus package. Wasn't that what the Left was calling for?

Don't you fucking dare try to compare the reasons why the left hates this bill with faux "hate" on the Teabag side. After all, where the hell are they marching? The only reason they are mad are because they don't want to pay "lazy bums on unemployment". As per usual, these assholes condemn spending as they point their fingers at people who aren't themselves, while ignoring all the spending they gorge their pork bellies at. It's disgusting!

Limbaugh is calling a lot of it pork, and to an extent he's got a point. OTOH, pork, in this situation, is stimulus -- some of it probably about as short-term as improving the insulation on federal buildings (yes, there's a long-term benefit to that, but I don't think it fits into the significant figures on my HP calculator).

Calling this "the best that can be done" is not a description of the bill, it's a description of the intellectual cesspool Congress has become, a morass of ideology with very little concern for real people -- and no courage for serious action. When the most prominent Republican in the city can't even grasp simple truths Dr. Laura gets (repeal DADT) and tells active military people to their face that he knows better than they do, and the foremost Democrat facing off against him is a limp strand of spaghetti with about as much creative spark as a wine cork (maybe less; creativity has flowed from the grape), maybe we shouldn't expect anything better than patch-together grab-baskets of legislation.

Or maybe we need to do something about the system.

All very good points and I mostly agree with them. When I say best that can be done I mean that in the spirit of compromise between the interests of the minority and majority that is supposed to be how congress works. It just a real shame that it takes major turn-over election and procrastination on the part of the current congress to bring it about. The last minute rush to do all this pretty much precludes doing much better.

I don't think it's been procrastination so much as obstruction. I think the Republicans, who've been tossing wrenches into the works at every opportunity, are counting on the Democrats to be gentlemanly enough to not do the same.

It's just too bad the Senate hasn't had any leadership for these two years.

But Republicans are not alone in this to blame, the Democrats were putting it and many other issues off for the election. The main thing it shows is not only do we not have any real leadership on EITHER side of the aisle but that we are losing the art of compromise in the partisan nightmare that currently dominates our current politics and without it the Congress cannot function.

Agreed. What America desperately, desperately, needs; is a President who solves the problems, not just picks a solution that happens to be halfway between the two parties.

Sometimes he is limited to what can pass congress. This is called checks and balances. As much as you hate that, it works, it prevents one party rule, and we know that dictatorships don't offer much liberty.

LMAO! Yes, you're a huge supporter of rearranging the deck chairs of the Titanic that is America. Yet, you and your ilk will be the loudest whiners as the country circles the drain.

I think you may be a useful idiot for the communists. Who is Laika, someone you relentlessly bashed until he got sick of the aggravation and left the forum? The left is so full of anger and hate and rage at anyone who doesn't conform to their emotions! Like a bunch of women!

So is anyone here really himself?

I'm getting to the point where I think it's time we let the Tax Cuts expire for everyone and we start getting this country's debt under control. it has to be done at some point.

With 8 million people unemployed?

Let's not forget, Japanese bonds are at historic lows and their debt to GDP is at 2 to 1. We're not near those levels.

Our debt level is manageable.

Yep. Even with unemployment where it's at. I want Social Programs, believe me. But I have to accept that we can't have everything we want, when we necessarily want it. This is the absolute best thing to do to get spending under control and will actually come close to balancing the budget.

Nobody likes to pay taxes, and yes we are recovering from a recession. At the same time, we have managed to do with having less in the past and we will do it again. We will manage and we will survive it.

i still can not believe they call themselves that. i think its just to make me giggle.
