ive always thought that the quote mentioned meant that when you are looking for your answers...

when you think that others are at fault

when you think that the big sollutions are outside of yourself...

then you are missing the point

we are the makers of our lives and therefore the lives we build follow us, in both good ways and bad.

if you run from something bad, it will be where you go, because you made the mess in the first place. if you have something good, dont be afraid that as you progress through life it will leave you.

wherever you go, no matter now you got there and who you blame, there you are, and you have to reach within yourself for the answers and sollutions or you will repeat the same mistakes and never learn to accept yourself.

It's funny that you can't stop laughing at it. lol I see how it can make people laugh. "Where ever you go, there you are." -Well duh!...lol, but I think I can help you understand it.

Andreus is right. To put it sipmly, it's when you run away from your problems and you realize the problem you're runing from may be your-self. So, you realize you've been runing from your-self and think, "Wait a minute, I can't run away from myself... because where ever I go, there I will be."

I never thought of it as a phrase dealing with escapingonesself. I originally interpreted it as making a statement about accepting life as it comes. No matter how bad your path has been, no matter how shitty the place you're in right now is, you're there and the only option is moving forward.
