Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Fatman: I was there. One of the most amazing games in Premiership history. And who was Spurs manager then? Glenn Hoddle.

It's a funny old game. That's why we love it.

The one time i wouldnt of minded my team losing (Tottenham Hotspur) they win. I mean i was hoping Chealsea would win to make sure Man UTD dont win the premiership. ;) But its looking like they will.

"Wouldn't mind losing to Chelsea", and you say you support Spurs???

If you really support Spurs, you will know that they have gone 10 games without defeat in all competitions - 2 draws, 8 wins - unlike ManUtd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Spurs could still win either the Premiership, the Uefa Cup, the Carling Cup or the FA Cup.

No true Spurs' supporter, at this point of the football season, would want Spurs to lose any game.[-X

Fatman: At least you acknowledged the famous Southend win. No posts from the other "dedicated" ManUtd fans on JUB.

Must be the Glazer effect. They can't sea beyond the end of the peer.;)

ManUtd winning anything this season? The seeds of doubt have been sown...

Well, it looks like a 3 horse race now in the Premiership. Brilliant football is being played by ManUtd, Chelsea and Arsenal. It's gonna be one them who wins the title.

Benitez at Liverpool seems to have real problems with selection. You have to wonder if he and Gerrard communicate.

Well done to Reading, who reminded Spurs there are no easy games in the Premiership.

A fascinating weekend coming up: 25/26 November. Arsenal - 25/11 - have got to win at Bolton to stay in the hunt for the Premiership title.

Then, the next day, ManUtd v Chelsea. A "six-pointer" match.

Before then the Champions League games involving ManUtd, Chelsea and Arsenal where key players might get injured...

Then, on Thursday the biggest game of the week - well for me at least - Bayer "the inventors of Aspirin" Leverkusen v Spurs in the UEFA Cup.

Oh no greaves i really do support spurs just im guessing (pretty sure) spurs arnt going to win the premiership, so id rather have chealsea win it or arsenal then Man UTD.

The Bolton v Arsenal game tomorrow- 25/11 - is going to be one of the most important games in the Premiership so far for both clubs.

What a weekend this is going to be for indicating which team is going to win the Premiership.

I'm glad I support Spurs.;)

Fatman: hope you didn't have a bet on any of your brave predictions;)

It IS a 2 horse race now: ManUtd and Chelsea. Forget the rest. So what a game awaits tomorrow.:D

Being a Spurs' supporter, I don't bet on anything.;) But if I was forced - by a beautiful, big-cocked blond twink, who would only let me suck him off if I made a bet - I would go for a Chelsea win.

5 games in the Premiership tonight, all involving teams at the business end of the table.

Arsenal, Liverpool and MUtd should win, but Chelsea have a tricky fixture v Bolton at the Reeboxing ring: Big "Samson" Allerdyce v Jose "Moremoney" Mourinho.

Steve Bennett is the referee. Expect early Christmas cards. But don't expect peace and goodwill to all men. Sky is showing the match, but don't look for angels.

All, of course, leading up to the most important match of the season: Arsenal v Spurs on Sat 02/11/06.

When oh when will modern technology be used in the most popular game on planet earth???](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Don't get me wrong: Spurs deserved nothing from the game v Arsenal yesterday. But 0-0 should have be the final score.

Arsenal's first goal was clearly offside. ( Loved the commentor's remark: "Even if he was offside, Spurs should not be defending so high up the pitch.")

Then 2 loads of Pollacks: 2 penalties given by Graham Poll - remember Australia v Croatia in the World Cup? - neither of which was a penalty.

Add to this the blatent diving of Chritiano Ronaldo in MUtd's game v Middlesborough, defended today by the myopic Ferguson.

You have to wonder if there is something not quite right within the Premiership.

ManUtd look good for the Premiership title after this weekend's results. 8 points ahead of Chelsea after the latter's draw with Arsenal today. (Goal-of-the-season contender from Essien to equalise for Chelsea:=D:)

Chelsea can cut the gap to 5 points by beating Newcasle on Weds. 13/12. And we are not half-way thru' the season yet...so anything is possible.

Even Spurs - 5-1 winners yesterday - could, mathematically;) - win the Premiership!!!

The busy Xmas programme ahead. Chelsea are 2 points behind ManUtd.

Interesting to see the battle for the Premiership as the "Cold War" reincarnated, as ManUtd is owned by Americans and Chelsea is owned by Russians. America won the "Cold War". So international pride is at stake.

Another interesting fact is that there are 7 London teams in the Premiership, and as it stands at the moment, 2 of those are almost certainly going to be relegated at the end of the seasons: Watford and Charlton.

Lots of European football leagues take an Xmas break. But in the Premiership Xmas is usually one of most exciting and entertaining periods. As it should be: many football fans have holiday time, and they want to be entertained.

Woohoo! Middlesbrough actually won!

*shocked*

Hehe...

Y'know, when I was sitting down to watch us play charlton, the guy in front of us turned around and said "I'm nervous. They've not won away in 23 games..." It's just so indicative of middlesbrough's curse that we laughed and knew *exactly* what he was talking about. It's so like middlesbrough to break those records :D Luckily, thanks to Arca finally getting a full game in, we took them to pieces.

Charlton are going down. With that moron as manager, how could they stay up?
He said that they were on top of us and lost from stupid mistakes... Pfft. Like hell... It took them over 90 minutes before Mark Schwarzer had to make a save. And our goals... well, bad defending was a factor, but it wasn't mistakes. It was just charlton being woeful.

And I have insider knowledge! He was saying to his coaches that they need to be careful with Boateng, because he's 'our playmaker'. All that's done is convince me he doesn't know the meaning of the word. Arca was our playmaker. Boateng was our defensive midfielder, as he always is.

Both Chelsea and ManUtd have 2 winnable home games coming up over the next week, whilst Liverpool and Arsenal both have 2 away games. So the Premiership could become even more of a two horse race than it is at present.

And jacobim, the 'Boro have 2 tricky away games during this period. Best of luck with those...|

Have to agree with you fatman: ManUtd look a good bet for the Premiership title. What are the odds? And have put any money on them?

Or will the 14th of April 2007 be a crucial decision day?:-)

Alan Pardew has been appointed Charlton manager in place of Les Reed. Christmas heave!

D'you reckon their chairman read my comment? ;)

I don't want man utd to win the prem, because they cheated us out of a point at least, and since I reckon a blatant dive being a booking, and two from ronaldo straight after each other makes for a sending off, in my book. *shrugs* I originally was for them, simply because they've not spent stupid money on players who really haven't got much left in the tank (aka 30 mill on Shevchenko. I mean, he's thirty and he's known as a pacy striker. In two years time he'll be useless, and even now he's taking a season to settle in! What's the betting he'll be shipped off to someone like Bolton in a couple of seasons time?)

So now, I want Arsenal to win the prem ;) Chelsea second, and Man Utd to go down :D When Arsenal play well, up front they're the best team on the planet because they make everyone else look like amateurs. Including Man Utd and Chelsea. They just don't play well enough in defence. If they had gone and got (and now ill sound really biased) Woodgate and Huth, instead of Boro (Because on the evidence of this season, Woodgate is the best defender that's ever played for middlesbrough, and huth's got everything he needs in spades), they'd be top of the league. In a couple of seasons, they will be top of the league, with their youth coming through.

All the Xmas/New Year Premier fixtures now completed. The top ten teams have all played the same number of games. ManUtd have a 6 point lead over Chelsea, who are lucky to still be in contention. ManUtd have dazzled over the festive season, whilst Chelsea have battled

Still a long way to go.

FA cup this coming weekend, so no Premiership games until w/end of 13/14 Jan.

And the winter transfer "window" is now open - until Jan 31st. Rumours that Stevie Gerrard and Wayne Rooney are on their their way to Spurs - oh bliss! oh rapture! oh dream on!!! - are as unlikely as England winning the 5th Ashes Test in Sydney.;)

HNY fatman: there is only ONE world class player in the list you mention.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Greaves

I've seen, live, Best, Law, Rooney, Giggs, Lampard, Cantona, Droghba, B. Charlton, Lineker, C Ronaldo...etc. Not one of them even gets anywhere near the talent of Jimmy Greaves.

Greaves is up there with the immortals of football.
