Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Man Utd have mage to scrap what 2 points. I never under estimate them but as we all know bad starts can cost you.

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Great to see Spurs win 4-0 v Derby, but as Derby were complete rubbish, the questions still remain. Next game for Spurs? ManUtd at OT next Sunday.

Great wins for Reading and Wigan.:=D::=D::=D:

I shall leave Jacobim to comment on Mido's wonder goal for 'Boro.;)

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Didn't see it, only just heard about it. I'm currently on my ex's laptop, at his house, and I've been at a festival in Derby lately. I don't care if the goal was valid, Boro still won! Goal on the debut? That's gotta do wonders for his confidence, and of course it's about time some luck - and questionable decisions - fell our way.

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Well Liverpool drew with Chelsea after they were awarded a penalty, which the whole world and his dog have stated was not a foul in the box by steve Finnan, the ref has been dropped from next weeks premiership matches and has apoligised yet it still cost us 2 valuable points!!!

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Did you honestly expect the premier league to backtrack and actually offer some form of compensation to a slighted team?

I draw your attention to Sheffield United/WHU.

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Over the course of the season, these things balance themselves out for every dodgy penalty that you win an offside decision or borderline decision will go against you. Ultimately, the cream will come to the top.

Looking like this season, may be a little bit different from the others with some of the big guns all dropping points already. Maybe there will be a title race where some of the also rans may keep pace up till christmas at least.

It'll be interesting to see how long the manchester team in the top half of the league can keep it going!!!!

They got 1 point from their first three games in 92/93, and still won the league.

I agree - don't underestimate them.

Still rumours persist Jol is on his way out from Spurs.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/t/tottenham_hotspur/6957639.stm

The game on Sunday 26/08/07 v ManUtd at OT will be crucial for both clubs.

I don't see ManUtd losing that game, as the Spurs defence is so suspect at present.

But if Spurs did get an unlikely win, it could mark a watershed for both managers.

That's the fascination of football.

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

If Martin Jol gets fired, then Tottenham's top guys are morons. He's been awesome in the past two seasons, and he's having his job threatened on the basis of three games?

They're saying he was given the demand that they finish in the top four this year, but if it wasn't for him that target would seem ludicrous. The amounts he's got from some of his players are immense, and he's turned a few average players into internationals - not to mention, finding the absolute star of last season.

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Boro have accepted a £11.25m bid from Everton for Yakubu, by the sounds of things.

Hope he goes. For that cash, we're getting such a deal. :D

I'm hoping we put in a bid for Afonso Alves, personally. Boro need a regular and consistent goalscorer.

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Please G_d can Arsenal buy a new 'keeper.

I apologise for all the bad things I've done this year, and last year, and I will be a much better person if you give us a new 'keeper, I promise.

Dodgy for Arsenal, dodgy for the Germans (not that that is a bad thing, says the KNVB fan in me). Time to retire, I should wager.

I've never thought much of Lehmann. I agree you might need a new one, although you did just get a guy from Poland.

Anyways, Boro need one too. Schwarzer is alright, but he's not getting any younger. I want Boro to find one soon. I think we'll get one more season out of Schwarzer, and next season we'll have to buy at least one, maybe two.

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

I said in last season's thread England had the wrong manager who then chose the wrong captain. Last nite's defeat v Germany has not changed my mind.

Back on topic, it's good to see Sky are now showing the ManUtd v Spurs game live on Sunday. It is going to be a cracker.

Indeed it is such as the "og riggot scored" against west ham even though the ball didn't cross the line.

Re: Which Club Is Going To Win The Premiership This Season?

Rafa Benitez must've been smoking something a bit weird.

I want to ask why it was so difficult for Liverpool to sign Javier Mascherano but it was so easy for Carlos Tevez to join United

Erm, 1.) Fifa state that a player cannot play for more than two clubs in a single season, and Liverpool would've been the third, 2.) what the hell? How can he call the Tevez deal 'easy'? It took weeks, and several court appearances, and 3.) I dunno about you, but the Mascherano deal, besides for #1, came across as pretty damn simple to me.

Bit of an odd bloke, is Rafa.
