Ramindra: it's the same here in the UK. If you want to watch the major sports live in your own home, then you have to subscribe to SkySports. And it ain't cheap.
I have SkySports 1/2/3/Xtra as an add-on to my cable TV/phone subscription, and pay £40 per month for the whole package. Which is not a problem, as I have a well paid job.
I also have to pay an annual TV licence fee of £130+, for terrestial channels I now rarely watch: BBC/ITV/4/5 etc.
You can of course watch most of this stuff in your local bar/pub. But that is not everyone's cup of tea or slice of shortbread.
