Which gay movie do you like best?

BURN MONEY
MYSTERIOUS SKIN (and every thing ARAKI has done)

I think 300 was pretty gay..... ONLY a gay man can appreciate the hot spartans and the blody violence, I love it.....

My fav. "A Home At The End Of The World":

I want to see this one "Presque Rien":

Pierre et Gilles made the photo featured in the the cover.

I don't like "the home at the end of the world" much...just don't feel like it.

let's see, I have many favorites: [not in any specific order]
- "Trick": light, and happy ending, make you feel good about life. :D [and John Paul Pitoc is cute] >:)
- "Mambo Italiano": Italian in Quebec or Montreal, Canada or something like that, a really funny, light movie depicting a gay love affair of a guy in an Italian family. :D
- "Our Lady of the Assassins": is also a great movie, but it has a sad ending...a lot of people die...

.....
Remember this much so far....
Will try to find time to watch "Sommersturms," "Get Real," and "Beautiful Thing" later.. ;)

Parting Glances - Best ever.

Harry and Max - another good one

Both are technically non-porn.

I'll probably be lynched for saying this, but I hated Brokeback Mountain.

I am glad I am not the only one, I didn't even finish watching it.

I really liked Latter Days and the soundtrack is really good, too.

With the exception of a straight-to-TV movie called 'No Night is Too Long' that I saw on Google video once, I don't think I've ever seen a 'gay' movie, though I own Brokeback Mountain on DVD and plan to watch it soon.

One of my favourite films of all time is Y Tu Mamá También - it's nigh-on perfect. I mention it here because there is a lot of male nudity, and a lot of homoeroticism.

On a closely related note - when I'm king, Gael Garcia Bernal will be first against the wall

with his pants around his ankles, and his legs spread :D

...

killer condom - silly scifi movie where creatures that look like condoms go around chomping off guy's dicks and a gay cop who's trying to figure out where they're coming from

...

Killer Condom! I can't believe anyone's seen that (I certainly haven't), but I bought a book by HR Giger recently, and there was a section about it. He designed the condoms originally, and his sketches are in the book. The film-makers didn't listen to him though, so eventually he just left them to screw up their film on their own.

My favorites are:
Latter Days
Mysterious Skin
The Book Of Daniel
Oz
Playmakers
Big Eden ( Because I sense that there is someone very near me that loves me but won't just bring it on...dammit! I'm good to go...sigh.)

Have any of you seen the Graffiti Artist? It's a very beautiful film that has little dialogue, but at the same time you get it.

I am awful at describing things so that people would be interested, so here is how someone else described it that gets out what I want to say:
The Graffiti Artist (2004)
advertisement

Adrift in a lush, nocturnal urban landscape, Nick is a post-modern urban hero asserting his anarchistic agenda on the endless maze of virgin exterior walls that comprise downtown Seattle and Portland. For writer/director Bolton's lonely "tagger" protagonist, the vast wall surfaces of deserted alleys and trainyards are at once a daunting symbol of capitalist oppression and a texturally rich, seamless tableau ripe for exploitation to amplify his artistic dialectic of anger and rebellion. His own virtually anonymous existence seemingly only secondary to the painted surfaces and "rupture the system" manifesto which more poignantly evidence his presence, Nick's prodigious solo graffiti output is interrupted by friendship with another young tagger. Their communication begins as less verbal than a kind of shared graphic tour de force; their enormous collaborative graffiti murals appear to emerge as the unmistakable offspring of their kindred spirit. But eventually their assumptions about one another are disproved as political, emotional and ethical issues arise which cause their relationship to dissolve into the background of urban detritus, and the artists themselves emerge only further atomized and alienated by the experience. Compelling themes, sensitive performances, and luscious visuals define this film which is a revealing immersion into the experiential reality of those daring to make their art in a socially condemned arena. For a film ostensibly focusing on manipulated surfaces, Bolton's cinematic artistry probes deep into the consciousness of the "tagger" and "graffiti artist" sub-culture. Written by Bill Dose
I highly recommend it. Some might be bored with it, but I was riveted. It touched me.

I enjoyed latter days alot, though i havnt seen as many gay films as i would like. Do most of the movies everyone listed come on logo or other channels??

Eternal Summer: Chinese movie. I'm not really a big fan of Chinese movies for some reason but this one was actually very good. Great music. The development and chemistry between the characters is great. Beautifully shot.

A Beautiful thing is my favorite. I also liked Later Days, but A Beautiful thing I watch over and over.

I'd have to go with "Get Real" as a favorite, but "Broken Hearts Club" and "Latter Days" are right up there.
