White Gay Americans will all vote Republican

I predict this will occur in the next 10-15 years after most of the Gay Rights battles have been won. Currently, 37 states in North America allow some sort of gay marriage. After all equal protections for gays have been acheived, just what reason is there for Gay white men to remain with the Democrats? They've already been President Obama's harshest critics despite he being the best and most powerful ally gays have had. Plus, we must not forget the racial undertones of it all. Once White gay men feel equal to their white heterosexual counterparts, they will behave like most of them by holding onto to their white privilege. This will mean challenging policies that traditionally favors minorities in America. So yes, I predict most white gay men will developed an antipathy towards people of color and eventually turn into raging conservatives. Groups like Go-Proud and The Log Cabin Republicans are only the beginning.

I know most of them are closet racists. My point is, they are only using the Democrats to acheive their fight for equality and equal protections under the law. Otherwise they'd be Republicans. Once the lionshare of the culture wars are over, gay white men will all migrate towards the Republicans.

I think it is a big mistake to say "most" because you will alienate too many readers. You often have good points but your delivery falls short. I think someone needs to tell you that...so I am doing it...

I have said it many times on many boards over the years. The Republicans are idiots not to realize the potential they have with some gay voters...Don't underestimate the far left socialist liberal though...I would not expect any from their ranks to go Republican or Conservative. Many of Obama's harshest critics are people in the far left because he is too conservative...not because he is black. If he has one thing going for him for the people on the far left...it is BECAUSE he is black. Lately...the far left has been applauding him because he is finally starting to show his teeth.

The ones who will turn are the ones who crave acceptance....and who will kiss the ass of the same people who discriminate against them. I recently heard the term homonormative...and this will describe the gay men who will convert. It is starting already.....gay men trying to establish what is "normal behavior" BARF....the gay version of Mayberry...the pod people...

I have subscribed to this thread as I think the OP is really quite relevant in these days with the gradual acceptance of gay rights.

I hope people will think carefully before posting and actually communicate their thoughts on the subject rather than jumping down Kane's throat.

I had not heard the term "homonormative" but rather see what is happening as the "heterosexualisation" of gays.

Whether he is right in his forecast or not I do see an alternative future where homosexuality will return to the "dark ages". Rights once gained are not eternal, the situation can change rapidly as we are seeing in Russia.

Yes, my delivery is less than diplomatic, but it's both purposeful and necessary to encourage debate. Don't expect that to change. Been that way for years.

Agreed, but expect Republicans to pander more to the gays in years to come, or they will just simply ignore speaking directly to us or our issues. They will have to choose between the Religious Right, and the millennials. We shall see.

It might be sound if you didn't use the word all. I can guarantee you that all white gay Americans will not be voting Republican in the future.

Now, if you said more instead of all, I do agree with you on that. I think being gay has helped many people, myself included, to be more sensitive to other people and to see things from multiple angles, however, I do believe that there are people that would vote for a Republican if they weren't gay.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds.

Where the hell were all the people who voted for Obama White, Black or hispanic. Only 36.3% voted in the last election which gave us a tottally republican senate and congress. It had been said that Obama was voted in by people of all races who were sick as I was of Bushand knew we were over due for a person of color where the fuck were they at last election !

You're right.

What we really need here is another race thread that can allow everyone to generalize about the political actions of everyone based on skin colour.

You only need to look at all the other countries on earth that actually are more advanced than the US on homo rights to see that the evidence conclusively proves that all white homos vote as a bloc for the most conservative candidates. It is a requirement that we do so.
