there are three things that get you on my ignore list, and the three things I consider personality flaws for gay people to have that there is no recovering from....no ability to have redemtion in my eyes

Homophobes, Islamophobes, ultraconservatives... all inherently conflicted people if they are here participating at JUB. there are some types of people that i cant allow myself to respond to because I will not give them the honor of a response. In my culture, it is a compliment to debate with someone and it is disrespectful to end the debate before agreement is made... that is just not posible with those three types.

And I thought that I was a buddy whore! I have no-one on ignore, though - even being a 'mod' I CAN ignore people, but have chosen not to - although one person has come very close, and you'd all be REALLY shocked if you knew who it was. It's not my cyber-hubby GL by the way!

To be honest, I would find it hard to put someone on 'ignore' - purely because I'm so damned nosey that I want to hear what everyone has to say - even if I don't agree with it. Life would be too boring if everyone in your circle agreed all the time!

And don't forget that if you put someone on ignore because they are harrassing you, and following you on threads in order to 'bait' you, then that is a breach of the CoC and we can swiftly deal with them if you report them!!!

I have three JUBbers in my buddy list and no one in my ignore list. I doubt I'll ever use it. I simply don't think that's the solution for the problems I might have with other guys.

ignore also removes their comments from your comment page and blocks them from sending you PMs

it is a system wide ignore, not just a forum feature

And, if you do decide to contribute something to a thread, how do you know that someone on your ignore list hasn’t already said what you want to say?

Who cares if they did. They don't exist if you put them on ignore. I mean that in the sense that in your world they are no longer there. They CANNOT bother you in any way.

The people on my ignore list have avatars that are gross in my opinion. It's not that I'm scared of what they might say, I just hate seeing their face/penis so I choose to keep it from popping up ​

but fortunately there is a programable feature that makes it far easier

why do you use the remote control on your tv?

you can just get up and change the channel if you dont like whats on, right?

this is about enjoyment and improving the experience

why does it matter to you what people do with their ignore feature?

are you concerned that they will ignore YOU?

Well, then people that have no idea who is or isn’t on your list might think that you are one of the many who don’t pay attention to, or care about what anyone else has to say, and decide that you’re not worth trying to talk to.




And, if you use firefox you can use the adblock feature on individual avatars to block them without blocking out the post. Just a thought.

I don't want to talk to the people who I have on ignore lol. If I did I wouldn't have them on ignore, would I?

I've put people on my ignore list for about 5 seconds, but looking at the message telling me I'm blocking their comment just bothers me. I'd rather just deal with it instead of hiding from whatever bothers me. Plus, I think I'm just too damn curious.

I've been on these boards since the late 1800's, and I have NO one on either list.

My buddies know who they are, (although some are still learning ) And I've yet to be SO offended by someone that I would ignore them.

(Even if someone totally pisses me off, I still wanna know what they have to say...But, I guess that's just me)

Yikes!Another warmed over version of the popularity thread!i don't have a buddy list and won't make one,because I talk to a number of people here and nobody is more important than another....I talk to you and am on decent terms with you,you are unofficially a buddy of mine here.Some I'm closer with than others because I post more with them,or send comments to or share PMs with,but a buddy list seems kind of exclusive to me and I'm uncomfortable setting up one myself.However,to those who have included me in your buddy list,I'm thankful and appreciative.(Of course,to those I haven't....you simply have NO taste!)

He posted somethng once on CE&P and I thought to myself, anyone who can say that I never want to hear from again. Can't remember what he even said, but he's been there ever since. (And, no, his name isn't General-something or other).

i have 3 people on ignore... all of them are people that inflame my anger so much that it puts me in a bad mood, and tempts me to respond to them in a way that could get me an infraction, so i choose to ignore them.

Jason is on for similar reasons to Dutch.
