  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Who doesn't know Abercrombie & Fitch here?

Doug Jeffries, A&F CEO. I think his pic speaks for itself.

Okay everyone here the way I see is that A&F is ond of the "simi-offical gay clothing store" for guys up to the 20s So the question that one ask now is what are the "simi-offical gay clothing stor" For men in their 30s, 40s, 50s ect or is it when we reach a certain age we are all put on an ice flow for the good of the gay community.

I for one like Hollister Co. much more than A&F, but I wouldn't limit myself by saying I would never shop there.

AnF depresses me the clothes are overpriced, they're made in china, and they're not that stylish. I mean go to your local Nordstrom/Bloomingdale's/Sak's/NM, and you'll find better looking clothes for about the same price, and sometimes it might be made in Italy .. really. And, i like department stores better than retail stores, but that's my opinion.

BUT besides that tidbit: Yes, i think AnF markets for the gay community, but in an undertone of course or else it would lose quite a bit of it's customer base.

I like A&F but their things are so expensive it's insane! I buy my clothes from A&E since their clothing is affordable and very similar. A $30 shirt at A&E is $70 at A&F. However I always see hot guys, and usually only hot guys in A&F, I really need to step in more often just to check them out, maybe a little chit chat. haha. I remember when the store first opened they constantly had hot shirtless guys like Tommy in the entrance. I stopped by the store often then, but could never get the nerve to have a picture taken with them.

In Britain, that would read Accidents and Emergencies

I used to work at Abercrombie five or six years ago.. I bought into the trendy and homogeneous look of the clothing and then I finally came to my senses.

Abercrombie is awful; overpriced clothing for a bunch of tools.

For men and women who are over 22, they are advised to shop at Ruehl. www.ruehl.com (*8*)

only gay guys and college kids from the Midwest wear it

Some of the younger folks in certain areas of the Puget Sound Region have seemed to take a liking to the A&F style............

Abercrombie is good for the models and the techno.

They clothes are overpriced and not that attractive to me.

Their jeans are good, but you can get the same look at american eagle for much less.

I just hate shirts that just say abercrombie or hollister.

I love graphic tee's. They're so artistic and neat.

ya the one in my mall does the same thing he is always talking to the young girls in front of the store (girls who work there)

Its a lazy gay store. Nothing looks ironed.

I would honestly beg to differ. I have spent an entire shift (5 hours) steaming shirts before (FYI we dont iron shirts). Maybe the store near you is lazy but mine certainly is not. Pretty much all the managers are OCD (think flipping out on Bravo) about how the clothes and the people that work there look. I think it honestly is a prerequisite to be a manager there. Someone I worked with got fired because she was wearing fake nails because it's not part of the image. Another got sent home because he wore the wrong color shirt into work. Oh yes, we have a VERY STRICT dress code.

There is the common belief in the fashion industry which it seems many of you dont realize.

"You don't go into a store and buy clothes. You are buying an image."

Of course there are other various factors associated (fit, style, color etc.) that you may like about their clothes but ultimately, you are buying their image. What they want you to wear. If you don't like it, shop somewhere else.

FYI: We at Abercrombie and Fitch refer to American Eagle as the "poor man's A&F".

who wants to pay $70 for a dress shirt that is the of the same quality as AEs but $40 less? I wish A&F was cheaper cuz I like thier stuff to, I just dont have the money to spend $70 on a shirt every time I want one.

There are always nice shirts on clearance, you know~~
