Who doesn't know Abercrombie & Fitch here?

Re: Abercrombie & Fitch to close 180 U.S. stores

They have 294 store location in the US... so large markets wont even blink...

I dont use their products anymore BUT when they first revived the name they started out as a outdoors brand with a high degree of quality... I still have about four sweaters and shirts that are still holding up quite well .. they are not styled for a 16 yo 3% body fat teen boys body either... back then A&F men's meant Men.

Meh. Another business fails to make the generational paradigm shift to stay open...

yea sad that those minimum wage earners without benefits will be looking for other jobs.

until these large corporations start paying their employees decent salaries and giving them full time jobs more of this will be happening.

Oh please... so the 16 year old at my local A&F deserved benefits? Not hardly.

everyone deserves a decent pay and I'm sure there are people older the 16 in that store.

I have to laugh because Americans hate Abercrombie while it's quite popular here in Europe for casual wear. I have a good few Abercrombie hoodies, tshirts and other stuff that has really lasted a long time and has kept well. I've always found them to be durable.

Also fierce cologne has gotten me a heap of compliments btw;)

I'm still having a class A weepfest. This...is....just...the...devil trying to get back at all people who keep their bodies in shape and don't mind being a human billboard.

Ever been in one? Not usually. And those sales professionals who allow themselves to work a career slinging clothes for low wages acan go to the other four hundred different clothing stores in the mall. Seriously I have seen maybe one adult with an employee badge in a A&F... usually teen age gay guys, preppy guys and teen age girls are working there. Least from what I have seen. Meh.

Everyone deserves a decent living wage BUT there should also be entry level jobs for youth to perform, earn a paycheck and develop a work ethic.

I still have clothes from when I worked there 5 years ago. They used to make some high quality stuff but they must have been cutting lots of corners like GAP in terms of quality lately. Not surprised at all though.

love all the outrage about the waistsize. i was a bit confused first that 30 is supposedly the upper limit, since i have 28/29. then i had a look on wikipedia and learnt that an american 30 is an european 42 :rotflmao: I don't know anyone in my age who needs 42 trousers

Then you must have extremely skinny friends if I a 30" (in American size) waist seems so humungous. Not to be an asshole, but I am in very good shape and I'm young (20) as are most my guy friends and we all wear 29"-31" jeans/pants. It's possible that the stores you go to use American sizes for mens pants.

I've been them and it's not my type of clothing. But I do know that if these large corporations keep expanding at ridiculous rates and expect nothing to happen to them then they need a wake up call. Less locations and better and well trained staff who are paid a decent salary is the key to long term success.

Why do entry level jobs have to be at poverty level wages?

Well Corny, you didn't post your height and weight.

Me, at 6'3" 175 lbs [190.5cm 79.5kg] am a 32 or euro 48. A guy at my height who was a 30/46 waist would probably have an eating disorder.
