  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Who is the closest gay relative you have (if any)?

Try ... none.

Everyone in my family is married and hetero, and very very conservative ... which actually prompted me to move away from my home state. I never even told my parents, but I'm absolutely convinced they know.

My mother's cousin, who was outed by my mother's mother, when she saw him on the news at the gay pride parade.

my second cousin on my dad's side.

he's about 10 years younger then myself and was already out when i told him.

he was the very first person, friend or family that i came out to.

I met a cousin for the first time a couple of weeks ago (he lives in Europe). He's 30 and "single." I took one look at him and immediately my gaydar bells went wild. He looked at me and thought the same thing judging by the way he eyed me.

I have an uncle who claims to be straight; however, in my 21 years I've never seen him with a woman, he drives a Miata, is really picky about his hair, and has two little yappy dogs that he dresses up in clothes.

Yeah, he's straight alright....

myself. i'll take the honor. :D at least, i'll be the first and only gay person in the family.

Not gay, but queer it would be my mother. Also my brother has came out to me. An actual gay would have been my great uncle.

My uncle is gay rather yet bisexual.. I just want to say that just having a gay relative dosent always make things better

I have a half-sister who is a lesbian. I haven't seen her in about 20 years, though. She's my father's daughter. Her mother was a massive bitch and when I was around five, she decided to stop allowing my family to see my sister. A few years later, she even reported my father to child services and claimed he abused not only my sister but also me and my other half-sister (my mother's daughter), which was absolutely not true. My father never even spanked us, never mind abused us. So, it wasn't until about two years ago that I was able to find my sister on Facebook. I found out that she's a lesbian and now lives in Canada with her girlfriend. It was nice to connect with her, despite having to tell her that our father died in 2006. She had no idea. We even joked about both of us being gay...it looks like something runs in our family other than heart disease.

I also have a gay cousin on my mother's side.

Joswan the Resurrector of dead threads.... lol

I have an uncle who died in the onslaught of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Other than that I know my one cousin has had gay sex because we talked about it but he refuses to think he is gay.

I don't know of anyone in my family who is gay... my grandmother told me that my grandfather had relationships with guys when he was younger, but now he's married to another woman, so I can't be sure.

I'm Asian and everyone behaves so asexually it is difficult to tell who is gay or straight.

I reconnected with my dad's cousin's daughter who I haven't seen in years, on her fb she states that she is bisexual. :)

Not connected enough to my extended family enough to care, and so far no one has mentioned that there was more than me.
