Smoking pot is something i enjoy every so often. I first tried it at when i was in my early teens, and i loved it from the first. What i did'nt like was the harshness of the smoke, since i had never even smoked a cigarette, it had me coughing like Keith Richards in the morning. I had been drunk once before i smoked pot that first time, and i hated being drunk. You feel retarded, sloppy and numb. Besides, vomiting was never my idea of a good time. And hangovers? I'd rather be the official White House proctologist.
Pot is a good high, if you don't get paranoid, and you wake up the next day feeling fine. Maybe a little tired, but after a shower i feel fine. Far better than an alcohol hangover! I've never believed that drug-free America crap, that it's a gateway drug. As for me, i've never tried coke, mushrooms, lsd, meth, pills, heroin or any other drug, and i have no desire to. Sure, i've been offered but i always refuse. Plenty of other pot smokers i know are the same way. i don't crave it, and if it's not the right time or i'm not with the right people, i won't want any.
It really should be legalized. Alcohol was illegal in the US at one time too, and i think it's far more harmful. Look what it does to peoples lives! Could you imagine what Woodstock would have been like if alcohol was the drug of choice? Do you think it would have been peaceful? Think of the money wasted on this bullshit "war on drugs" the US has waged! It's a war that can never be won. We could probably wipe out homelessness or hunger, or provide free medical care to everyone. During prohibition who got rich? Organized crime. Strange how history repeats itself.
There are also medical uses for pot, and they really work. My aunt nearly died of ovarian cancer, and the pot kept her not only happy (which is healing in itself) but let her eat and keep food down, inturn keeping her weigh & strength up. Even her doctor told her to smoke it! Could you imagine her doctor recommending Jack Daniels or crack?
Canada will probably legalize it before the US, Vancouver is already getting like Amsterdam. Given the current state of politics in the US, and the worst administration ever, i doubt i will see pot legalized in my life or not until i'm old.
For those of you who, like me, don't like the smoke part, i recently bought a vaporizer and it's heaven! You just get the essence of the pot, no actual smoke in your lungs. You can buy one at a head shop or order one from High Times or Cannabis Culture magazine for $40 or so. It's worth the money, you won't choke and there is no odor so nobody will be calling the cops on you. Now if you all will excuse me.....i gotta go have a smoke.
