wow, I'm surprised so many guys think it is wrong?
drugs are great as long as you control them as opposed to the other way around

i kicked smoking tobacco but I still drink alcohol, and that one vice is quite enough. Ask a cigarette smoker what it is like to give up his coffin nails, and then ask me if it is smart to smoke any other "drug of choice."

It occurs to me, without reading this long string of threads, that if I am going to suck on anything, I prefer a cock to a cigarette or a joint. Protein content is much higher, too.

nope.. its never gotten me to a better place, but i have no issues with people who do... im a bit surprised by the poll results though

HI Guys !

(yer Joshy is back...)

Smoking pot..... Hmm...

Ya know, there are lots of arguments for and against smoking that
'demon weed', but speaking only for myself, if pot were legalized tomorrow,
I'd never touch another drop of alcohol again.

Don't quiver with righteous indignation, fellow JUB-er's, let's think about
it in a broader and possibly more rational frame of mind.

In the most basic sense, pot is a gift from Mother Earth. (Don't go running
for your tie-dye shirt and guitar...let's just thnk about it a bit)

In the simplist of terms, it's a plant that grows out of the ground. A 'weed'
if you will.

Who is one person to tell another that they cannot pocess it ?

The only thing pot is lacking is the deep-pocketed lobbiests that keep the
Budwieser, Coors, and Miller beers afloat.

Beer.

It's a cheap high. Most of us regret it. We get into accidents, fist fights.
and untold conflicts...too many to mention.

And yet, the deception continues....

Surely, after a few beers, lots of bikini clad women will show up, leaning against race cars....

In short, NO one gets into a fist fight after a few bong hits....

Alas, I'm only one gay man... adrift in a sea of hardly ever visited common sense....

haha

no joshy

only 20 percent of the members here have voiced disaproval....

you are hardly alone

there are many things that go into our personal choices on this one

thanks to everyone for being honest and mostly civil!!

its good to see we can talk about a controversial topic without it becomeing an outright slamfest

you guys are great!!

I confess to smoking pot.

I wonder if the people who answered 'no, I think it is wrong' think it is wrong only because it is misdemeanor criminal act to possess pot in the US. If that is the reason then I commend their values.

I confess to smoking pot.

^ I guess it just saddens me that we live in a society where admitting to smoking
pot is the stuff of 'confession'.

"I confess, I had two Jack and Cokes last night, and after gazing at some
hot guys ass all evening went home and had a jack off session so intense
I briefly saw God himself."
I mean.....Really....Who cares ??

In my opinion, we'd have a much more peaceful planet if everyone would just
roll up a 'doob' from time to time.

Then again, that's just me.

Joshy

i have smoked pot off and on since i was 17, and im the most scintillatingly brilliant person here.

confession=admission. Why sad? Be happy that an estimated 83 million Americans have admitted to trying pot (2004). I certainly agree that pot is a much more peaceful altered state of mind than for instance, alcohol but I do not believe that smoking a "doob" is suitable for everyone. Sadly, the planet has problems with peaceful coexistence even a doob will not help solve.

one never knows

I doubt that Clinton is the only world leader who experimented with marijuanna

Smoking pot is something i enjoy every so often. I first tried it at when i was in my early teens, and i loved it from the first. What i did'nt like was the harshness of the smoke, since i had never even smoked a cigarette, it had me coughing like Keith Richards in the morning. I had been drunk once before i smoked pot that first time, and i hated being drunk. You feel retarded, sloppy and numb. Besides, vomiting was never my idea of a good time. And hangovers? I'd rather be the official White House proctologist.
Pot is a good high, if you don't get paranoid, and you wake up the next day feeling fine. Maybe a little tired, but after a shower i feel fine. Far better than an alcohol hangover! I've never believed that drug-free America crap, that it's a gateway drug. As for me, i've never tried coke, mushrooms, lsd, meth, pills, heroin or any other drug, and i have no desire to. Sure, i've been offered but i always refuse. Plenty of other pot smokers i know are the same way. i don't crave it, and if it's not the right time or i'm not with the right people, i won't want any.
It really should be legalized. Alcohol was illegal in the US at one time too, and i think it's far more harmful. Look what it does to peoples lives! Could you imagine what Woodstock would have been like if alcohol was the drug of choice? Do you think it would have been peaceful? Think of the money wasted on this bullshit "war on drugs" the US has waged! It's a war that can never be won. We could probably wipe out homelessness or hunger, or provide free medical care to everyone. During prohibition who got rich? Organized crime. Strange how history repeats itself.
There are also medical uses for pot, and they really work. My aunt nearly died of ovarian cancer, and the pot kept her not only happy (which is healing in itself) but let her eat and keep food down, inturn keeping her weigh & strength up. Even her doctor told her to smoke it! Could you imagine her doctor recommending Jack Daniels or crack?
Canada will probably legalize it before the US, Vancouver is already getting like Amsterdam. Given the current state of politics in the US, and the worst administration ever, i doubt i will see pot legalized in my life or not until i'm old.
For those of you who, like me, don't like the smoke part, i recently bought a vaporizer and it's heaven! You just get the essence of the pot, no actual smoke in your lungs. You can buy one at a head shop or order one from High Times or Cannabis Culture magazine for $40 or so. It's worth the money, you won't choke and there is no odor so nobody will be calling the cops on you. Now if you all will excuse me.....i gotta go have a smoke.

Fundamentally, it comes down to this: no intelligent person smokes pot. Nothing good comes from it.

Possoble exception: medical reasons. I'm on the fence over this.

No intelligent person smokes pot? What the fuck kind of lame assumption is that?

I know a LOT of smart people who smoke pot, one of them graduated from Cal Poly, and another one started his own online business which became very successful. Some of my best friends and art-collegues smoke pot, and I admire them because they are such good individuals and independent. So, I have to give you a friendly "fuck off with your judgements" because, 'fundamentally' your'e wrong.

Now, to be more real about the subject, don't judge things you do not know of. I have tried coke, e, shrooms, salvia, robo-tripped, alcohol, weed, acid, and heroine. I'm 23 years old, and I choose never again to do some of the drugs I've done. I believe I am a stronger person because of these experiences.

It's because I have done these things I know which drugs I do not want to do. However, some people have an addictive personality, so they should be careful of the choices they make for obvious reasons.

But that's my opinion on the matter, but don't listen to me, I'm not intelligent because I toke.

On a side-note, I research all drugs I do before I try them. On this website, you can look up a gang of information about practically any drug- the chemical breakdown, legalities, effects on your body, dosage information, and many good forums that have people's personal experiences.

By all means, I'm not a druglord or drug pusher, I just think people should know what the bullet looks like before firing their gun.

I have never done any kind of drug. And I have never had any desire to even try any of them. I realize that it is considered a gateway drug...one that starts off with pot and then moves on to something stronger. But, I still feel that it should be legalized for use in the privacy of their own homes. There shoudl be limits, people should not be stoned while driving, just as they should not be drunk while driving, it should not be done in public places, etc.

I'm more intersted in getting hemp legalized than pot.

There are better alternatives to pot in regards to health issues. I think that pot should be legalized mainly because I don't think the government should try and stop it. I also feel that too much money is wasted in trying to stop it. Just as I believe that it is dumb to make prostitution illegal.
