Who will the nominees be?

I love Bernie but Bernie isn't going to get the nomination---He's not even a Democrat---he's an Independent----but after Hillary and Trump get nominated---he may run as an independent ;)

But Hillary can avoid him running as an independent by making him the first ambassador to Cuba ---

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...ANYTHING BUT THAT!!!

If that happens, we are all fucked and greased-up (ah, so at least they used lube on us ) on the rails heading straight to Hell.

Bernie as a third party candidate would *GUARANTEE* electing the Republican, whoever he is. (I say "he" because Carly Fiorina obviously isn't going to make it to the finish-line.) For that matter, both Bernie and Trump as third (AND FOURTH) party candidates would guarantee electing the Republican...because no candidate would get 270 electoral votes and it would go to the House Of Representatives...and we know where THEY stand, don't we?

Not to mention that, state by state, the delegations to the House are even more Republican, percentage-wise, than they are by individual member. Each state gets one vote, so North Dakota is as powerful as California. How many state delegations are Republican-dominant? 35? 37? Even Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Wisconsin would vote for the Republican because ALL of those states have majority-Republican delegations in the House (I THINK).

The biggest nothing of all of them is Rubio---they just showed him say the same scripted thing 6 times in the debate and then showed him today saying a different scripted thing 10 times today explaining away his debate scripted lines--:rotflmao:-I can't stand him---I can't stand a lot of them but at least some of them have REAL achievements.

OK, and this: Because there are an even number of states, and therefore 50 votes, what happens if there's a TIE? I wouldn't expect it in 2016, but I could have easily imagined it in 1992 if Ross Perot had pulled away enough electoral votes, and I think the nation was more "balanced" than now.

In that case, does the Speaker of the House have a tie-breaking vote?

But isn't it also a conflict of interest that he is in the line of succession?

I see it as Clinton and Cruz. Rubio embarrassed himself way too much with the robot fiasco, and Bernie has no real chances of actually winning the presidency, and the Dems know that.

It's refreshing to see that Benvolio is still fighting the good fight against immigration.

HEY BENVOLIO, I GOT A GREEN CARD NOW, HOW DOES THAT FEEL?!

Now that's just rude, you know how sensitive he is about that. You should at least conceal your ahhh........ infiltration until you have full citizenship and can vote for a Republican hack like all of his other friends.

no idea i just hope trump and bernie get it. i think trump probably will on the GOP side, the GOP has always nominated the most liberal of their candidates, while the establishment candidates are fighting over big money, if they were to win, would be easy targets in the general election. trump would be easier for other reasons but the gop is just fucked.

The gop is so not fucked---Trump-Kasich can beat Sanders and Hillary depending on how slick his campaign is --and it so doesn't matter what the polls say at this point.
A Kasich and Rubio ticket which a lot of people see as possible could also easily beat Sanders---Hillary would give them a run for their money.
So--gop is not as fucked as you wish they were but the dems are if they nominate Sanders---no matter what the polls say---a 74 year old Jewish socialist from Brooklyn and Vermont is not going to be elected president. No matter what the national polls say today.
The gop super pacs ---the BIG MONEY--are spending hundreds of millions of dollars building Bernie up and tearing Hillary down---and it is working.

Sanders and Rubio.

Sanders will get it because people will get to know him. They will realize he believes and wants the same things as they do. People will wake up and want a party that is left of center. Bernie will help America get one once again.

Rubio will get it because he is young and everything the GOP wants. Trump and Cruz don't stand a chance. Rubio just has to not fuck up too bad.

...and so are you going to help him get everyone on board with his "plans"? We already know that he won't get a single Republican in the House or Senate....and since gerrymandering has done it's intended damage to Democracy.....the minority will be the majority in the House for the foreseeable future....

That leaves the Senate...and since some Democrats are actually conservative and come from states where going along with Sanders will be political suicide for them.....and for us when they get replaced by Republicans...what "magical power" does Mr Sanders have to convince them to follow him onto the mass grave he will be digging for ALL Democrats?

He is NOT a skilled negotiator....nor does he inspire confidence....the art of compromise is ESSENTIAL now more than any time in recent history....

He is saying what the left wants to hear. He is sincere about it...but you are truly foolish to think any of his ideas will come to pass.

Do you understand what limited power a President actually has??????

Oh yeah..getting to know Sanders. Uh...have you noticed the power of propaganda at all in the past 20 years? The Republicans will have the EASIEST job they have had in the past 20 years with Bernie.....and the public WILL be frightened of him....the more they "get to know him".

You are the poker player that wants to go all in. Be more like a chess master and think fourth dimensionally. No one has said he will get everything he wants on day one. Things have to start somewhere. It will more than likely not end with him. There is a reason he is calling for a revolution.

In the meantime it is laughable that you act like republicans are going to fall over backwards to pass things Hillary wants. There comes a point though that the American public will punish republicans for being petty and petulant. I think that time is soon if Bernie gets elected.

Perchance to dream....The Twilight Zone remains a comfortable escape from reality where dreams, can be dreamt.

the only thing coming out of Hillarys campaign supporters are cynics and fearmongerers. shes waging a republican campaign that appeals to the lowest of the low in politics.

hillary has almost zero cross partisan support, and even less likely to get her ideas put into law than Bernies or even Trumps.

Hillary said Bernies campaign is one of innuendo, look whos talking. Her campaign reminds me of the republicans attacks on Obama.

Funny you say that..because so many of the Bern supporters are sounding exactly like the Republicans..saying the same things the Republicans have said about her for years now...and no clue at all about the damage you are doing...

FYI..the big political board I was on for years...that long ass quiz to figure out where you are on the political spectrum..I landed left of Ghandi ...as far left as you could go actually. I think there was a 1/2 square left before I touched the border of the chart. Politically...I am a Socialist..

Why do you think so many Republicans plan to vote for "The Bern" in the primaries? Because they like him?

Seriously... :##:

The republicans have a point, the difference is democrats have a say in democratic politics and shes running for the democratic nomination not the republican one, it doesn't make truths untruths just because liberals are saying it, how absurd is that? Its that kind of arrogance from Clinton people, that liberals should shut up and fall in line behind Hillary is why her campaign is collapsing. Hillary doesnt get a pass in running for president anymore than Bernie does for being called a "old socialist whose platform will never pass congress" when he attracts more supporters than Clinton.

Accusing liberals of damaging the democratic party? Typical of a Clinton supporter to say so because Clinton is the bough candidate that nobody trusts, not even democrats. If you want the status quo establishment get nothing candidate, vote for Hillary.

Republicans happen to be Americans too, its not Bernies fault that Hillary doesnt appeal to anyone other than so called 'moderates' which is a thin slice of people who apologize for everything both parties do. Part of sanders campaign is to weed out corporate shills and self proclaimed moderates like Hillary.

After NH Hillary needs to throw in the towel before she embarrasses democrats any more with her lame attitude towards taking wall street cash while Americans say they are worse of now more than ever. Shes not a chance candidate and never will be.

So...just to be clear...are you saying that you agree with the Republicans about Hillary Clinton? Is that "the point" they have in common with you?

Hillary appeals to a lot more than a "thin slice" of Democrats. I could give you many examples but I suspect it won't make a bit of difference. This is why I never respond to Republican shills anymore...been years now since I learned that valuable lesson..and I learned it well. It saddens me that I would have to add The Berns to that category...but I know better than to try to teach a pig to sing..and I prefer to waste my time with more enjoyable pursuits....

psssstttt...I am not even close to being a moderate on the political spectrum..

If I want to talk to a wall..I have four perfectly beautiful walls to talk to and the great thing about talking to a wall is...it already KNOWS it is a wall....

The republicans have a point

After reading the first five words, I heard the angel of death whispering in my ear "You are mortal, pal; do you really want to read the rest of this?"

Being an agreeable person, my reply to the angel of death was: Let's watch a repeat of the video of Beyonce and Chris Martin at the Superbowl instead."
