Whoopi Goldberg Goes OFF On TV Guide/Stacy London

Oh please....

I love me some Whoopi...but she is the epitome of "a fashion don't"

sure...she has all the right in the world to dress the way she wants...but she usually looks sloppy or tacky.

She's in the public eye and should be used to all the negative attention...and besides...if she's going to go out in public looking like a hot mess...she should expect criticisms and take them with a grain of salt rather than getting all bent out of shape about other people expressing their opinions...which btw...is how she currently makes her living...

jmho...;)

What a bunch of BS. Following your own logic then the fashion stylists should also expect some backlash from the people they criticize. They've expressed their opinions...they should also expect opinions being expressed about their opinions.

Clothes can be, just like other things, an expression of one's self. This is her way to express herself...weither one calls it tacky, it doesn't matter...it's HER style, her own.

She rarely if EVER expresses opinions about stupid shit like what people are wearing.

haha...seems I hit a nerve with some Whoopi lovers....

Like I said before...I like her. I admire her for who she is and what she's accomplished and certainly entitiled to express her own style as she wants... but, at this stage of her life/career, you'd think she'd be past being affected by other's opinions of her. Seems to me a more Whoopish response would have been to blow it off rather than take it so seriously and personally...after all...she's been criticized for her appearance for years....she should be used to it. And...getting caught up in an on-air feud with another pseudo-celeb is ridiculous...and beneath her if you ask me....well...typical behavior at The View now that I think about it  (Rosie and Donald, Rosie and Elisabeth, Rosie and Kelly, etc....;))

However, I didn't say any of them couldn't express their opinions...I'm just surprised that Whoopi went on a rant like she did. Since her job is to express her opinions...she turns and gets angry when someone else expresses theirs.... Also, she knows in show business if you choose to dress or do anything unconventionally ...then you're going to get someone commenting on it...like it or not...otherwise the countless tabloids, fashion and style magazines, award show fashion wrap up shows, etc., etc., etc... would all be out of business. Who knows...Maybe she was feeling neglected and wanted to get a little press

And yes...clothes are an expression of yourself...and everyone should have their own personal style...but they are also one of the 1st impressions you relay to someone else. We are all guilty of judging a book by it's cover whether we want to admit it or not...and someone dressed sloppy, tacky or inappropriately is going to get negative reactions and people in the public eye are going to get criticized...it's the way it is...whether it's right or wrong....and Whoopi is not above being exempt.

geesh...you'd think I cared about this topic...funny thing is I really don't...have fun all!

Whoopi lover? Lol! Trust me...I like her but she's not a goddess I worship...AT ALL.

Judging someone based on 1st impressions...sure, of course we've all done it but this wasn't based on a 1st impression. And what Stacy said about Whoppi was beyond shallow and ignorant...it's hard to take her seriously because of the way she dressed? Funny...I barely noticed the way Whoopi dresses until I saw this video and this whole thing began. I've always noticed her BRAINS.
And just because it is the way it is doesn't mean we shouldn't fight to change our ways, to better ourselves.
And we all have egos...some days we couldn't care less about what others say, other days we might be more sensitive and react more defensively. We're all guilty of that as well. That being said, just as criticism is expected this type of reaction is also to be expected sometimes. Like you were, basically, saying...Whoopi is only human.

And you do care about this, otherwise, you wouldn't have posted in the first place.

Why so antagonistic? When I said I really didn't care about the Whoopi thing...I meant it. I really don't...really. ](*,)

but anyway...I'm sorry I struck a chord with you when I initially expressed my flippant opinion on her fashion sense (or lack there of) and her overreaction to criticism. I'll try to remember that and be more sensitive in the future...I'm only human
