Why would someone consider lying "fun" when other people's feelings are invloved? I lie sometimes, but not about that. Be upfront when you're dating. If you're dating 2 guys at once, say so! What's the big deal?

I learned my lesson a LONG time ago...

I lied and cheated once in my life, just once, lost everything I ever wanted, and suffered tremendously. I regret it to this day still. I have never cheated again, nor do I plan on it. I don't lie to anyone ever anymore for fear of the pain I caused someone before. Then again i've been single for a while, so not like it matters. :-P I feel your pain, guys are fucking moronic somtimes.

I'm thinking the same thing.I've got this wonderful defense mechanism that allows me to believe the best about people,guys in this matter....but it is purely defensive.I know it's an illusion,but it keeps me sane,or as close to it as possible.But I know better deep down.

Sometimes guys will lie because they are afraid of the consequences for themselves. For some gay guys, they've spent the better part of their lives lying about their sexuality and it just seems to come easy to them.

For some guys, the lies are to spare feelings of others; again because they're afraid of the consequences.....

It can become a vicious cycle; the people who have been lied to begin to think that this is acceptable behaviour and before you know it, everyone is lying about everything....kind of like politics.
 
The answer to your question is easy: They're all insecure.
Most of them don't know want they want from life, so they try everything, only to find they get nothing, and then spend the rest of their life feeling frustrated.
