How about those annoying songs that play when you call someone? First there is a message like, "Please enjoy the music while your party is being contacted". And then some godaweful song comes on that you have no choice but to listen to.

My ring tone is pretty normal, but very loud. If I don't keep it loud I can't hear it ring.

There is a great TV ad in Australia for a Toyota Hilux. About a dozen "butch" farm workers are sitting around having a smoko when someone's cell phone starts warbling it fancy ring tone. They all look at each other but the person whose phone it is refuses to answer it. In other words, he is refusing to admit that he has one of those awful ring tones. Great stuff.
