Why can't white gay men just admit they are racist?

Rant... I'm not giving any comments on this. Its just a ventalation of someone who doesn't know how to avoid racial tension.
 
As a black gay man myself, I can attest to this. So all this time I'm thinking guys don't speak to me because I'm ugly or my breath stinks, and it's been my skin color all along. Damn.
 
If you believe that's true about all gay men, then you might as well believe that you deserve not to be talked to because of your skin color.
 
I speak for myself and if you bothered to read my original post I am speaking about the white power structure the white gay mafia. Kevin Naff the editor of the Washington Blade is a part of this white gay mafia. The media has a lot of power and for a gay editor at a newspaper to defend Imus really shows his racist true colours. It really goes to show Naff is one of the worst hypocrites. Black lesbian feminists such as Dionne Brand, Angela Davis, and white lesbian feminists such as Adrienne Rich have all written about the hypocrisy of some white gay men when it comes to the issue of racism. Naff sure showed his bigoted colours once again in one of his columns. This is my problem with the white gay community they complain about homophobia yet ignore the issues of racism and sexism. As black feminists and white feminists have pointed out racism, sexism, and homophobia are all interconnected.

I am not surprised that white gay men on this board defended Imus. However, I have noticed some black gay men on this board so quick to defend white gay men. Its no surprise as Kevin Boykin has pointed out in his work and Essex Hemphill pointed out in his eloquent book "Ceremonies". Some black gay men are so desperate for white gay approval and validation they will ignore racism.

But I do believe there is a segment of gay black men that are cowards. Some gay black men are so busy chasing white cock they couldn't give a rats ass about standing up against discrimination. Some gay black men falsely think just because they sleep with white men or date white men they are somehow a part of this fictional gay community. The mainstream gay community is essentially whiteness it is not black, or Asian, or Native American its white. The word "gay" community is equaivalent to whiteness it displaces gay people of colour.
 
While the majority of negative homophobic comments i've received in my life have come from the black community, I am not and never will be racist. To make a blanket statement, a generalization about an entire group of people based on the colouring of their skin is beyond ignorance, it's plain stupidity.

Okay, that's it. Morrissey, your posts just show that you won't be satisfied with anything that could ever demonstrate otherwise. So feel free to continue supporting the racism and prejudice that you so despise. If you want to separate blacks and whites, so be it. Because that's all you're doing. You fail to aknowledge just how prejudiced your statements are. You have a chip on your shoulder, and that chip is with white gay men.

I imagine that if you walked down the street and saw a white gay man, you'd automatically label him a racist. You might not know that he's in love with a man of color, or that he's a leading activist against racism and intolerance in this country. You may not know that he's a professor in african american studies.

Yous eem contnet to just assume and make blanket statements. Not once have you really qualified anything you've said about white gay men. You see one white gay man defending Imus, so you spout off that all white gay men must defend Imus.

Then you go on to attack black men who associate with white gay men, assuming that if they do, they're only doing so to escape their black heritage.

So it seems that uyou can't be pleased and that you probably never will. Keep drawing that big divide, and in no time, I'm sure you'll have the saturated racist environment you so desire.
 
morrisseyX defending isaiah washington is just ridiculous. i think there is a huge amount of racism shown by white gays all the time. but isaiah was wrong there's no defending that. the fact that he brought up someone's sexuality when they had nothing to do with it is unacceptable and just crazy. if you were to discuss the racism of white gays you'd be on to something but now you're making things worse. thats why people say thing like "playing the race card." it happens when you try to call racism for things that make no sense. and your statements makes people of color look irrational and hurts the cause.

Yeah, you can group me into the field of a white gay male. But do not generalize when it comes to my feeling of race or religion. If you were to approach me with the intent of a conversation witht he preconceived notion that I am racist then you are setting the tone for the conversation.

And to flip the coin here, If you, as a black gay male, see all gay white males as racist, then that makes youa racist as well..... IMHO

since we're stereotyping, i gotta say from my experiences on JUB, that asian males on here say the most racist shit i've ever heard...in real life, white people aren't all that bad, at least here in the northeast. i imagine it's different elsewhere.

Sure there are black gays that accept the white gay mafia and the white gay power structure. However, there are plenty of us that do not accept racist organizations such as GLAAD, Advocate, Dallas Voice, Washington Blade, NY blade, Ellen Degeneres, and Rosie O Donnell. Anyone that has read these publications knows their racist anti black agenda. Of course some black gays and lesbians feel the need to distance ourselves from the gay movement when essentially the modern gay movement is a white one. When you got editors like Kevin Naff at the Washington Blade or the racists over at the NY Blade defending Shirley Q Liquor that's a serious quandary.
Its the reason why black gay pride has emerged across America and where the black gays that give a damn we realize we must help ourselves. Jasmyne Cannick a black lesbian feminist is correct also in her comments about the white gay mafia. If you want to keep your head in your ass that's fine. The truth is out there just read about it.
