Why do people drink? Why do people smoke?

It's the small pleasures in life that make it worth living.

According to some, sex is just intercourse between the male and female of a species in order to reproduce their kind for the continuation of their species. Maybe you lack the desire to have children.

Others say it's a habitual thing. When you're hungry, you eat. When you're tired, you go to sleep. When you're horny, you have sex. Maybe you're not in the mood.

what about boredom and confusion as to how to deal with human emotions?

eM.:(

I have sex with my man to express my love for him WITH MY BODY. Words are often not enough to show my deep and intimate desire for him. Simple as that for me.

Thats the same thing as saying hugging, kissing, smiling, frowning, etc is useless.

I hate to rain on the parade. But sex is a natural product of your brain. I don't think there has ever been any studies on long term issues relating to lack of human sexuality. Though if I remember it isn't all that un-common in other primates.

I used to say the same thing, and then I came to my senses as a depressed man and realized that there really was something wrong for me, not with me. For me it was that I was a gay man living in a heterosexual world and not a player.

Then when I came out and gained my happy self in the transformation, I became a happy sexy man who can't get enough of the sex that is ours. I think I am a bore because it seems so over the top, but I have been there, and now I am here, and I am making up for fifty lost years, and I have sex so often, I am a virtual jack rabbit to my partner, and he is not complaining.

I'm sensing the correct answer is procreation.
You know birth of offspring and so forth.
There's really no better reason.

To paraphrase the great Professor Irwin Corey, "though many believe sex to have been invented by Freud, it existed for centuries before him. He was just the first one to put his finger on it...."

Well, that's nice! But trust me when I say that I'm in no closet. I am as chipper as I can be. There's absolutely nothing within me that wants to go there with anyone period. I'm glad you accepted yourself. But that's not my situation all. Thanks for the response anyway.

If you're happy leading a sexless life, more power to you.
Be prepared for people challenging your choice, however.
I think most people would see it as abnormal, but it's your life!

What are you views of homosexuality in general and what about love and romance in particular?

I'm fine with people being gay if that's who they are. The reason I joined this forum is because I know gay people know what it's like to be on the outside looking in. You know being different. So I can relate to them on that level. So I don't have a problem with gay people. I don't however support some of their behavior. Now listen to me carefully before you all go getting offended. I know all gay people don't do these things. But things like having orgies, random hookups, bathhouses and the like I just feel is plain disgusting whether you're gay or straight. And it really puts a damper on honorable gay men and women fight for equal rights. I have gay friends and they all agree. So I don't have a problem with gay people at all.

You do realize that the behavior you described is not exclusive to gays?

For most of us, sex is a drive that begs to be satisfied and pounds away at our brains until we do.

Its obviously an instinct of reproduction - it makes people reproduce, often carelessly, and it assures the same trait will be passed on to the next generation.

As for gay men....we have the same drive as straight men so it really doesn't matter if there is any point in it or not. It does foster intimacy and connection with lovers, however.

Sex makes your brain release endorphins.

Endorphins make you feel happy.

Doesn't everyone want to be happy?

(apologies to the writers of TV's Medium)
