Let's face it...the REAL, fundamental reason why people have hated gays since the beginning of time is the ass thing. People HATE that so many gays take it up the ass. Along with the "recruiting" mentality, there's also the fear that Gay people will "spread" homosexuality to their children--as if it is a disease. It's easier to believe this with younger children than young adults, because young children are still going through a developmental stage. So the fear is that if homosexuality is introduced to them at a young age, it will alter their sexual development during puberty and become gay.

For example, my extended family came over to my house to spend the weekend. My two little cousins were also there, both are under 6 yo). Anyways, it got late, and we were just watching TV. SNL was on and they had that one skit where everybody is kissing everybody (literally). Then the skit had two guys kissing, comically. My cousins' father then told me to immediately change the channel. I said it's just a skit. He then implied that if they continued watching 2 men kiss, they will become gay.
